Rumor has it that Turner will be traded tomorrow to an unidentified team for their number one pick in the 08 draft. This was on ESPN radio and they stated that they thought that it may be the Packers but couldn't confirm it yet. The team would be guaranteed to have him for at least two years with his tender signing and the team being able to tender him next season. He would still be playing for a contract and thus would still be HUNGRY!! This would also put us in position to move down and pick Olsen and possibly have two, number two picks next year. We could than trade for Moss with our third and we could end up having our three big needs on O filled. I like Turner way more than Lynch but that is me.

I would not trade our 08 #1 pick.

I would because if we land Moss,Turner and keep our first two picks, we will be picking in the mid twenties.

There is no way that TT will trade next season's first round pick for Michael Turner, who hasn't proven he's a number one or feature RB.

We can't be this unidentified team. :)

I thought that he could be had for a second for two seasons or possibly a second and a third? This sort of scenario would fit TT's way better.

Bills | Team out of Turner race
Fri, 27 Apr 2007 16:29:15 -0700

John Clayton, of ESPN, reports the Buffalo Bills are out of the running in acquiring San Diego Chargers RB Michael Turner.

_____

So does this mean it's between Tennessee and the Packers?? :?:

It will be Tennessee if anyone. Certainly not the Packers.

Next year's picks, when dealt, usually are valued one round LOWER in the current year (a present value calculation). That's a rough estimate and there is no hard and fast rule.

Much depends on where you think that pick will be in the round.

If Turner (who has played in the NFL and done well) isnt worth the value of the #16 then why is unproven, possible headcase Lynch worth it?

Thats really the only logic you need.

I personally don't think there is any garuntee of that. I think it would definately help...but...

I do have the feeling though that Ted Thompson is going to make a statement somehow this weekend. I'M PUMPED.

Well, if Turner is going to be moved, and the consensus is that he is, I would say we have more interest in gaining his services. Even though Lendale White looks like crap, he was still their #2 pick last year. Chris Brown is still "the guy" there, even though he isn't much.

I'm cautiously optimistic that we "could" get Turner.

Watch some team come out of nowhere and grab him. I would enjoy that and see the ESPN clowns backpedal on their reports.

I'm expecting a harsh weekend from the ESPN crew about Green Bay, cause I don't think we're going to do exactly what they've thought we'd do since February. so we'll get "yelled" at by Mel Kiper.

I can see it now....

"This pick makes no sense to me. Lynch was the player they needed. They could of been a contender, but now they are going to be in the bottom of the NFL, again. Because, you see, I'm Mel Kiper and I'm always right. If I say a player isn't going to be good, he might as well retire and start selling Viagra through the internet. Just ask that one Henderson guy. I'm always right."

I agree with you. The Packers are looking for Packer People high character gyuys and lynch isn't it. Lynch is a head case plain and simple. What I don't get especially next season where the NFL are cracking down on player conduct why are the "experts" talking about Randy Moss and Lynch as Green Bay Packers while both are "Headcases" Aka Koren Robinson debacal.

Koren isn't a headcase, he just had (I hope) alcohol issues. Moss is arguably a headcase, and Lynch is a bonafide headcase.

Your right Robinson is not a head case I guess what I ment was getting in trouble. When I mentioned the conduct policy. I would guess that the Packers will draft high character guys first then look at talent. That is why Lynch will not be a Packer. Nor will it be a WR because of the Moss trade goes through before the draft (if it goes through before the draft) My guess it will be a shocker that know ever expected...

The production Lynch will have on the NFL will rest squarely on him. He needs to show better behavior. He could very well be a very good back for some team. Although if he causes trouble or gets in trouble with his attitude with the new player conduct policy in place, I can see him being in the league for about 3 years.
