Update: 04.27.06 - An NFL source said the Packers and Broncos recently discussed the availability of disgruntled Green Bay wide receiver Javon Walker. There is a chance Walker will be traded by this weekend’s draft, and the Broncos are one of several teams that have expressed interest in Walker, who is recovering from a torn ACL.

The Packers are believed to be asking for multiple draft picks for Walker. Denver and other interested teams, including Philadelphia and San Francisco, are expected to talk with Green Bay as the draft approaches. There is a chance Denver will try to involve wide receiver Ashley Lelie in a deal. Lelie wants to be traded, and his agents and the team are shopping him.

And Walker, we hear, wants $10 million to $12 million in guaranteed money.

He won't see that. He will be lucky to get a 2 Mil Salary and a 2 Mil bonus. The rest would be incentive based escalators. He has to produce this year without being a cry baby to even think about 10-12 Mil in guaranteed money. Maybe TT should offer him a little raise with a lot of incentives for 1 year and then tell him he will renegotiate next year if he puts the numbers up.

It's hard to believe anyone is going to be able to check his ACL and sign him to a new contract before tomorrow morning.

however... if he sees what's out there contract wise from other teams it might put the Packers offer in a different perspective. Also, it might put in perspective whether this fiasco was good for his career or not.

Walker's problem was he didn't want to go all out in his contract year with a team he truly hates and despises.

This deal should have long ago if it was to get done for a draft pick this year when it would accelerate the rebuilding process.

Evidently, two teams have already seen it (NO & Den), but do you think that TT might have put him in this bind on purpose? If he wants out, he has to take what someone's offering without too much negotiation.

We'll see what happens. I hope his knee checked out. If it did we have a chance at an early 2nd this year or a 1st next year.
