'Family Night, Presented By FOX 11' Scheduled For Saturday, Aug. 4

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday announced that 'Family Night, Presented by FOX 11,' will take place Saturday evening, Aug. 4.

The NFL's most popular scrimmage, the Packers sold every available seat in the stadium bowl for the 2004-06 editions. This year's 'Family Night' will feature an intra-squad scrimmage between the Packers' offense and defense. Evening activities get underway in the stadium at 6 p.m., followed by on-field football drills at 6:30 and the scrimmage at approximately 7:30.

"We are excited to once again host families and fans of all ages at Family Night," said Packers President/COO John Jones. "Now in its seventh year, Family Night is a great training camp tradition. Seeing our younger fans experience a game-like atmosphere in Lambeau Field is always a treat and we'll be welcoming fans from all over the state for the evening. It's a unique and exciting way for our fans to get a preview of the 2007 team."

"We have a commitment here at FOX 11 to be Northeast Wisconsin's favorite television station. We believe that presenting events like 'Family Night, Presented by FOX 11,' is one way for us to become this," said Jay Zollar, WLUK FOX 11's Vice President and General Manager. "There is nothing like experiencing the excitement and enthusiasm shown by many of the younger fans that typically don't get a shot at attending a Packers game inside Lambeau Field. It is a great event and one we are proud to be associated with."

The event will be televised in Green Bay on WLUK-TV FOX 11, as well as on WITI-TV in Milwaukee, WMSN-TV in Madison, WFXS-TV in Wausau and WLAX-TV in La Crosse. Hosted by Drew Smith and other members of the Fox 11 sports and news staffs, the live broadcast will start at 6:30 p.m.

Included in the evening's activities, per custom, will be the popular "Shirt Off Our Back," with approximately 20 jerseys - all of which will have been worn by Packers players in the just-completed scrimmage - to be given away in a random drawing, other entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show to conclude the night.

A popular summer attraction, the event drew 62,701 in 2006, 62,492 in 2005, 60,217 in 2004, 48,898 in 2001, 50,240 in 2000 and 46,420 in 1999. 'Family Night' did not take place for two years (2002-03) during Lambeau Field's redevelopment.

Tickets, priced again at $8, will go on sale Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. and may be purchased either in person, over the phone or via the Internet. A limit of eight tickets per purchase again will be in place this year for an initial sales period to allow more fans to have the chance to make a transaction. Parking for the evening will be free.

A group ticket program (minimum of 50 tickets) established last year to continue to accommodate groups that have regularly attended the event since its inception again is offered. A group order application form is available online, in person at the Packers ticket office or can be requested to be faxed by calling 920/569-7501. Group ticket orders are restricted to approved groups and organizations, and are to be used for the sole purpose of accommodating a group or organizational outing. Resale is prohibited.

Space is limited for group orders and all requests must be received by June 1, 2007. Orders will be filled in the sequence received. Groups will be seated together in the same vicinity.

For non-group purchases, in-person sales will be conducted at a number of locations, including the Packers ticket office at Lambeau Field, the Resch Center box office and all TicketStar outlets. Area TicketStar outlets include Oneida Bingo and Casino Concierge Desk, Curry's Foods in Marinette, Dr. Freuds in Manitowoc and Festival Foods in Oshkosh.

Over the telephone, tickets can be purchased by calling 920/494-3401 in Green Bay, or toll free, 800/895-0071, from any other location.

Fans planning to purchase tickets on the internet should log on to www.packers.com after 10 a.m. on June 16 for the direct link to order tickets.

We went last year and had a great time...was our first. Very cheap entertainment and a chance to take the family to Lambeau without spending a fortune. Last year when they did the "Shirt Off Our Back" the seat number for Green's jersey was picked in our section directly 4 rows away. :( They made it exciting when they were giving away the jerseys. And the fireworks at the end were nice too. It amazes me they have a sell out crowd for a scrimmage......only in Green Bay!! :D

We were there for the first time as well last year. Really enjoyed the trip (Except the Green Bay Ramada is a turd that needs to be flushed!)

Would like to go again this year, but would rather get to a regular season game.

The fireworks at the end were great! 8-)

I made several last year, although I guess not on this site. I wanted everyone to know what a terrible service we received.

They basically robbed us. We paid $300 a night for a suite and got the shittiest room in the place. They flat out refused to even discuss giving us what we paid for even though our receipt we printed showed a nice suite and not the shitty room we got. Talked to several people there and they were disgusted with the place as well. My room was not a non-smoker and the entire place smelled musty and you could see mold almost anywhere you cared to look. The service was terrible; all the employees were rude and acted like I was putting them out by complaining and asking for things as simple as an extra towel. The pool looks nothing like what they show on there website and its so broken down only one of the two water slides works and they have to have employees at the water slide to keep kids from getting killed.

We called Ramada about it. They contacted the Ramada in Green Bay and apparently told them to make it right with us. A few weeks later we got a call from Ramada asking us if the apology and gift we received from the Green Bay Ramada was acceptable. We told them we received nothing, not a call or gift NOTHING! Apparently they told the HQ that they settled with us even though they made no attempt what so ever. We eventually received a $100 rebate towards our next stay at any Ramada. Never did get even a simple apology from the Green Bay Ramada.

Hopefully my complaints hit a nerve and Ramada is forcing them to change things and your stay will be a good one. Next time we go however I am going to the Tundra Lodge!!!!!

Zig, just an FYI, the Ramada did some remodeling and is under new ownership if I read correctly. Obviously people who don't live here don't know this and can only report on their previous experience, but I would just like to let people know.

They have the best Sunday brunch in GB. Went there a couple months ago, was very impressed.

As fate would have it, I have a root canal scheduled for that morning, and in the afternoon I have to go craft shopping with the mother-in-law. O therwise I'd love to go.

Thanks for the extra info. Maybe after the game we should post our impressions of the places we stayed and ate, etx.

A great site for that kind of thing is tripadvisor.com - They do exactly what you mentioned.

I hope they have improved. Other than the Ramada, Our trip was one of the best little mini vacations we have been on with the kids.
