I haven't decided if I'm for this or not, but I believe it's designed to do both.

It's all bureaucratic BS. They are trying to please everyone. The reality is, no matter what you do, not everyone will happy.

I personally am against it because they don't enforce they laws on the books now so adding more will make it harder to enforce. Also, it is very expensive for someone from Mexico to get a Visa to travel here. A lot more then $5,000. The countries with the least illegal immigration problems enforce their laws, build fences and keep people out. For all of the bitching that the Mexican government does, they have very strict laws preventing us from moving in there and they enforce them.

I like the idea that they're planning to put up a three foot fence. I know how we could save some bucks on the construction - how about gathering up a bunch of old hurdles from high schools and lining them up on the border. We could make it REALLY difficult to get in if we oriented them so that they wouldn't tip entering the US. Anyone who COULD jump over could get a Presidential physical fitness award along with their 'tamper-proof' card.

By the way, what is the meaning of the term "hell in a handbasket?" Has anyone ever seen a handbasket?

This phrase, meaning "to deteriorate rapidly", originated in the
U.S. in the early 20th century. A handbasket is just a basket with
a handle. Something carried in a handbasket goes wherever it's going
without much resistance.

James L. Rader of Merriam-Webster Editorial Dept. writes: "The
Dictionary of American Regional English [...] records 'to go to
heaven in a handbasket' much earlier than [...] 'hell,' which is not
attested before the 1950s. The earliest cite in our files is from
1949 [...]. 'In a handbasket' seems to imply ease and and speed
[...]. Perhaps part of the success of these phrases must simply be
ascribed to the force of alliteration. DARE has a much earlier
citation for another alliterative collocation with 'handbasket'
(1714), from Samuel Sewall's diary: 'A committee brought in
something about Piscataqua. Govr said he would give his head in a
Handbasket as soon as he would pass it.' I suspect that 'to go to
hell in a handbasket' has been around much longer than our records
would seem to indicate."

Yes its's gross as hell, but I have to laugh my ass off at the thought of all these artsy and aggressively "tolerant" folks at Cannes choking on their popcorn and squirming in their seats as they watch this crap. I'm disappointed that there were no "explicit" scenes for them to enjoy.

So if the men are having sex with a female horse, do we get this?

'Mammal to mammal love'

The men heard in the film are remarkably honest about their motivations. One of them argues "mammal to mammal" love should not be seen as wrong.

Another firmly rejects the tag "bad person" his employer lays upon him before he is sacked. They all say the horses were willing participants.
.................................................. ............................

Yeah, I can hear it now. "Hey, Tom. That horse over there just winked at you. I think he likes you."

what a joke, Can the horses speak for themselves? Did they have sex with Mr. Ed? Next it will be ok for these pervs to get F***** by retarded people because "they were willing participants. "

Well...ahem..back to the border debate.

If you were the chaperone at a dance and you found that many people had gotten into the dance without paying, some causing trouble and some dancing peacefully, and that even as you discovered the problem many were still coming in through a lengthy bank of open doors on the south side of the gym would you...?

a) grant "amnesty" to those that had snuck in and do nothing else.

b) attempt to find everyone that had snuck in and escort them out before doing anything else.

c) send another chaperone to watch the open doors.

d) decorate the doors with crepe paper and call them secure.

or e) close the doors.

That is why I don't get the debate. What's to debate? Close the doors.

I'm not arguing with that conclusion necessarily, but is it that easy? How do we close a "door" that's thousands of miles long?

And you still have to figure out what to do with the folks who got into the dance without paying. Is it "amnesty," escort them out, or something else? It's one hell of a bugaboo. :?

You know you crossed the line on this one, right?

I think I understand your intent, just badly chosen wording.
