Here's a link ranking this year's starting QB's. I think it's a load of crap that Favre is 15th on this list. Hell...Jay Cutler is above Favre at 13!!!!!!!

Like all great sports arguments, this debate began at a bar, with a number of SI.com colleagues earlier this week. The challenge: rank the 32 projected starting quarterbacks. The criteria: how will they perform in 2007, factoring intangibles such as winning and leadership along with statistics. Marc Bulger may have better numbers than Tom Brady, but that doesn't make Bulger more valuable.

After No. 5, this gets very difficult, but if you disagree with any of my rankings, I'll gladly set you straight in a FanNation Throwdown at any time.

1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Carson Palmer
4. Drew Brees
5. Philip Rivers
6. Donovan McNabb
7. Ben Roethlisberger
8. Marc Bulger
9. Matt Hasselbeck
10. Michael Vick
11. Tony Romo
12. Matt Leinart
13. Jay Cutler
14. Vince Young
15. Brett Favre
16. Steve McNair
17. Alex Smith
18. Jeff Garcia
19. Jake Delhomme
20. Chad Pennington
21. Jon Kitna
22. Eli Manning
23. Damon Huard
24. Trent Green (assuming he's a Dolphin)
25. Jason Campbell
26. Rex Grossman
27. Byron Leftwich
28. J.P. Losman
29. Matt Schaub
30. Josh McCown
31. Tarvaris Jackson
32. Charlie Frye

I'd put Brett at #10 ahead of Vick and right behind Hesselbeck. Nice to see other NFC North QBs deservingly at #21, #26, and #31. Our defense will benefit from playing against them 6 times.

I put him around 10. If he had a good offense around him, he might be able to crack one more late career probowl.

As it stands, I think this rating is a little low for him. He's had some very bad lines blocking for him the last 2 years and he did quite a bit iwth nothing. The national audiences don't realize that so I don't blame them.

Theres no way rothlesburger should be that high

Completely agree; I guess I'd put Brett at 9 ahead of Big Ben and Vick

I totally agree. He was along for the ride. His only job was dont make mistakes, something that Grossman wasnt able to do for the Bears.

This ranking is absurd!

1 Peyton Manning
2 Tom Brady
3 Carson Palmer
4 Drew Brees
Pretty Much Agree
5 Philip Rivers
Should be lower than 15th. He gets the benifit of looking good because of the team he is on.
6 Donovan McNabb
7 Ben Roethlisberger
"What the hell????, Crazy!!"

8 Marc Bulger
9 Matt Hasselbeck
10 Michael Vick

11 Tony Romo
12 Matt Leinart
13 Jay Cutler
14 Vince Young
What the hell have any of these guys done to deserve such a ranking???

15 Brett Favre
16 Steve McNair
Both of the guys should be above the last 3!!

I was also astounded to see Rivers at #5.

:!: :!: :!:

If this is the list, then I have no problem saying that Favre ranks between 5th and 10th in the league ... probably around #6.

I'd say:

1) Brady
2) Manning
3) Brees
4) Palmer
6) Bulger
5) Favre
7) Hasselbeck
8) McNabb

I think Palmer is a bit overrated because he has so many weapons around him. How would he do with the receiving corps Favre had at the end of the last 2 years? Brees seems to make guys better. IMO.

I'm not even sure about Bulger being ranked that high, given that he always seems to have 3 good receivers, a good line, and an elite running back.

Fuck it---I'm moving Favre up to #5.

I like McNabb, but he drops down the list because he can't stay healthy.

I'd place him in the 8-10 bracket.
