Packers strong safety Marquand Manuel says the reason his play was poor last season is because he was playing injured.
"Even though I was smart enough and physical enough to play the game, I still wasn't Marquand," Manuel said. The incumbent starter could lose his job to third-round pick Aaron Rouse or rehabbing Marviel Underwood (torn ACL).

I see he's referring to himself in the third person...Joemailman thinks he'd better come to training camp healthy enough to beat out the young guys.

Oh my god...he did refer to himself in the third person. Is it an actual quote?

I don't think it is an absolute certainty that he wasn't hampered by injury. I know there is a good chance he sucks but there is a chance he comes back quite a bit better too. I'm interested to see how he plays in 07. Collins too, acctually.

I hope that is the case and he comes back and plays great.
But yes, in my opinion, I would prefer the Packers just instantly cut anyone who refers to themselves in the 3rd person.

Well, not really:
"Even though I was smart enough and physical enough to play the game, I still wasn't Marquand," Manuel said.
If he was really speaking in third person he would have said; "Even though Marquand was smart enough and physical enough to play the game, Marquand still wasn't Marquand,"
