Who knows, but for u to speculate and claim there is different justice is ludicrous. If anything her sentence was way more harsh than a normal person would receive for a suspended license. Her shitty attitude in court caused her to get that sentence..no doubt, but still, it is far from the norm.

BTW, she has a prescription for valtrex..perhaps jail/stress is affecting her herpes.

The judge who sentenced Paris Hilton to jail and the prosecutor who pressed for her incarceration objected Thursday to her early release for an unspecified medical condition.

"The judicial process may have been improperly circumvented in this case," said City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo. "This explanation is puzzling. Los Angeles County jail medical facilities are well-equipped to deal with medical situations involving inmates."

Sheriff Lee Baca released Hilton to serve 40 days at her Hollywood Hills home after she served three days of what was expected to be a three week stay for violating probation in a reckless driving case.

While Baca's spokesman said the judge who sentenced her had been consulted, he didn't mention that Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer objected to her release. When Sauer sentenced her last month he specifically said she could not do her time at home.

"He did not agree to the terms of release that the sheriff proposed," said Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini.

But Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore noted it's not unusual for inmates to finish sentences under home confinement.

The overcrowded jail system frequently releases inmates early after serving only a fraction of their sentences.

She's made herself a walking, talking cartoon character - something that can be abused without guilt and not taken seriously.

The best thing for her is to do her time in jail and rejoin the human race. If she opts for special treatment via house arrest then a significant portion of the public will turn on her permanently.

Paris Hilton was escorted from a courtroom and sent back to jail Friday after a judge ruled that she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home.

"It's not right!" shouted Hilton, who violated her parole in a reckless driving case. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.

The 26-year-old hotel heiress was taken handcuffed from her home in a black-and-white police car, paparazzi sprinting in pursuit and helicopters broadcasting live from above. She entered the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, without makeup, wearing a fuzzy gray sweat shirt over slacks.

She cried throughout the hearing, dabbing her eyes, and her body shook constantly. Several times she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you."

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by Sheriff Lee Baca's decision to release Hilton three days into her sentence due to an unspecified "medical condition."

"I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," Sauer said. "At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home."

The hearing was requested by the city attorney's office, which had prosecuted Hilton and wanted Baca held in contempt for releasing Hilton despite Sauer's express order that she must serve her time in jail. The judge took no action on the contempt request.

A member of the county counsel's staff said Baca was willing to come to court with medical personnel. The judge did not take him up on the offer.

Assistant City Attorney Dan F. Jeffries argued that Hilton's incarceration was purely up to the judge. "Her release after only three days erodes confidence in the judicial system," he said.

Hilton's attorney, Richard Hutton, implored the judge to order a hearing in his chambers to hear testimony about Hilton's medical condition before making a decision. The judge did not respond to that suggestion.

Another of her attorneys, Steve Levine, said, "The sheriff has determined that because of her medical situation, (jail) is a dangerous place for her." Well no shit sherlock :roll:

"The court's role here is to let the Sheriff's Department run the jail," he said.

The judge interrupted several times to say that he had received a call last Wednesday from an undersheriff informing him that Hilton had a medical condition and that he would submit papers to the judge to consider. He said the papers never arrived.

Every few minutes, the judge would interrupt proceedings, state the time on the clock, and note that the papers still had not arrived.

He also noted that he had heard that a private psychiatrist visited Hilton in jail, and he wondered if that person played a role in deciding her medical needs.

The last attorney to speak was another deputy city attorney, David Bozanich, who declared, "This is a simple case. There was a court. The Sheriff's Department chose to violate that order. There is no ambiguity."

As the final pitch was made for Hilton's further incarceration, her entire body began trembling. She clutched a ball of tissue and tears ran down her face.

Seconds later, the judge announced his decision: "The defendant is remanded to county jail to serve the remainder of her 45-day sentence. This order is forthwith."

Hilton screamed.

Eight deputies immediately ordered all spectators out of the courtroom. Hilton's mother, Kathy, threw her arms around her husband, Rick, and sobbed uncontrollably.

Deputies escorted Hilton out of the room, holding each of her arms as she looked back.

Feel sorry for her? Puleease! She knowingly broke the law and has complete disregard for it. She got a DUI and was cought twice driving on a suspended license. So if hse got caught twice she obviouly did it many times. This is humiliating to her because she's a celeb and super rich and this kind of stuff doesn't happen to "them". Only average people. I know people get out of jail and see sentences shorten all the time and it happens to people that commit worse offenses, but do not feel sorry for a mega millionaire 26 year old.

Girls like Paris Hilton deserve no one's sympathy or pity. It was girls like this that tried to make my daughters and others lives hell.


It was interesting when each one was in high school, and those dreaded 'superlatives' were voted on for the yearbook my kids were consistently 'most friendly, most likely to succeed, nicest smile, best friend to have, most confident', etc. What they did not get voted was, 'best dressed, best car, throws best parties,' etc.

Money can't buy you what matters.

I feel sorry for this 26-year old woman too because her parents failed miserably in raising her. Emotionally, she's 26 going on 17. It's not her fault that she had lousy parents. They should be locked up too.

Kudos to the judge for sticking to the law and providing a dose of reality to the three of them, at least temporarily.

I'm a cynic, though.

LOS ANGELES (June 9) - Paris Hilton has not eaten or slept since arriving at the medical ward of a Los Angeles jail and is being given psychotropic drugs, celebrity Web site TMZ.com reported on Saturday, citing law enforcement sources.

Nevertheless, the socialite and hotel heiress said late on Saturday afternoon that she had told her attorneys not to appeal the order that sent her back to jail on Friday after a day of house arrest.

"Being in jail is by far the hardest thing I have ever done," Hilton, 26, said in a written statement issued by her attorney, Richard Hutton. "During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to think and I believe that I am learning and growing from this experience."

Hilton was ordered back to jail on Friday after a judge overruled a sheriff's decision to place her under house arrest because of psychological problems. She had spent three days of an expected three-week term behind bars.

The multimillionaire known for her party-going lifestyle was crying a lot and was very withdrawn, TMZ reported.

Hilton was visited by her psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Sophy, for more than two hours on Saturday morning. She was being held in a room by herself with a glass door that is guarded at all times, the report said.

TMZ also said Hilton was taking psychotropic medication, but did not specify which drug. Psychotropic medications affect a person's emotions and behavior and include drugs like lithium, which is taken for depression, and Valium, which eases anxiety.

Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County sheriff, declined to comment on the report. "Anything to do with her medical stuff I can't confirm or deny," he said.

A spokesman for Hilton could not immediately be reached for comment.

In her statement, Hilton thanked her fans for their good wishes and said she missed her family.

Hilton's early release by Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca sparked national outrage and accusations of preferential treatment because of her celebrity status.

On Saturday, however, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer's order to return her to custody was sparking controversy, with television pundits and others debating whether he had overstepped his bounds in overruling Baca.

Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail last month for violating probation in a reckless case by driving on a suspended license.

On Friday she trembled and cried quietly throughout the hearing, then broke into loud sobs when the judge ordered her back into custody.

"Mom, Mom. It's not right," she wailed as she was led out of the courtroom. Her mother, Kathy Hilton, also sobbed.

In Saturday's statement, Hilton, whose face has graced the pages of gossip magazines for much of the last four years, said she was "shocked" by the attention her case has received.

The unusual conversation came about because Kathy Hilton, Paris' mother, had phoned me, and while we were talking, Paris called on the other line. When she heard I was talking to her mother, she said she'd like to talk to me herself.

She sounded tired but totally aware of what she was saying.

"How are you?" I asked.

Paris answered, "I'm hanging in there." But she declared, "I feel as if I'm a different person. I've dropped my appeal. I don't want to cause any more problems."

I asked what happened in the jail that led to her being released or reassigned to her home. She said she had not been wailing, sobbing or screaming as had been described.

"I'm not the same person I was," she said. "I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute. I have been thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here. I have become much more spiritual. God has given me this new chance."

I asked what kinds of things she might want to do.

She said she would like to help in the fields of breast cancer -- her grandmother had breast cancer -- or multiple sclerosis. Her father's mother suffers from that disease.

She thought she might get toy companies to build a kind of Paris Hilton playhouse, where sick children might come, and the toy companies could donate toys.

She has had a person whom she described as a spiritual adviser who said, "My spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail."

"God," she said, "has released me."

Even though it might not seem it, it is a turtle. It looks at first to be an alien, but it's some turtle that was used for some promotion or something. I was looking to find the picture of the turtle that Bretsky had, but came across this and thought it was better.

Marvel comics legend Stan Lee is developing an animated series for MTV starring Paris Hilton, his office confirmed to Gatecrasher.

A separate source directly involved with the project likened it to the 'Stripperella' cartoon developed by Lee in 2003 for Pamela Anderson.

The insider said the deal had been inked and would include a credit for former Hilton boyfriend Paris Latsis, who was also on board.

'He's not doing much, but she wanted him involved,' says the snitch.

A start date has not yet been decided for the series
