My Top Five - (Those who care) (Notes taken from Draft Countdown)

Demetrius Williams

6'1 197 4.46*

Strengths:
Smooth athlete with good quickness...Has pretty good size with long arms and the frame to pack on some pounds...Tremendous leaper with outstanding body control...Is slippery in the open field...Adjusts to the poorly thrown ball well and will make the difficult catch...A major deep threat with great ball skills...Will eat up man coverage...Still improving and seemed to save his best for last in 2005.

Weaknesses:
A bit on the slight side and needs to add some weight...Lacks elite timed speed, although he plays faster when the pads are on...May have trouble beating the jam as a pro...Is not a great route runner and does a lot of his damage running vertical routes...Will drop some catchable balls...Needs to refine his technique and master the nuances of the position...Might still be a little too one-dimensional.

My Thoughts
Hello Javon Walker, Jr. Not the fastest, the tallest, or the strongest, but has a work ethic like no other. Elusive, no matter how tight the coverage he tends to find the open spot. Not afraid to come back for a poorly thrown ball. He will add strength in the NFL system and turn into an all-pro.

Martin Nance

6'4 214 4.55*

Strengths:
Has tremendous size and a big frame...Is a major threat in the red zone...Is underrated athletically...Good leaper who knows how to go up and get the ball...Has big, strong, reliable hands...Will make the acrobatic catch...Physical and knows how to use his body...Tough player who is more than willing to go over the middle...Solid route runner...Intangibles are top notch...Very productive.

Weaknesses:
May not always play up to his timed speed...Is not very quick...Isn't an explosive athlete...Could have trouble getting separation against pro defensive backs...Probably won't be a major deep threat at the pro level...Will lose focus at times...Has missed some time due to injury...If he doesn't run well in workouts teams may downgrade his upside to that of a #2 or possession receiver.

My Thoughts
You won't find a bigger natural reciever in this draft. Those who look at Nance really want him to hit home-runs for them, and he will not do that on a constant basis. The one thing he will do, however, is catch the ball after the sticks. He's your solid base hitter, the kind of guy who bats in the upper four hundreds. Good hands, decent speed, big frame, has ups. All around a solid #2 or #3.

Gabe Watson

6'3 339

Strengths:
Has excellent size...Solid athlete with tremendous quickness for a man of his dimensions...Moves well and has a burst...An immovable force who can control the line and is a premier run stuffer...Tough to block one-on-one and requires double teams, which he has shown the ability to beat...Very strong and a great bull rusher who will collapse the pocket...Can get some penetration as a pass rusher.

Weaknesses:
Underachiever who doesn't always play up to his talent level...Looks like a Top 5 pick on one play and a 7th rounder on the next...Lazy and needs to show more effort on a consistent basis...Struggles to stay in shape and gets too heavy...Has trouble with his stamina and easily runs out of gas...Seems to be on the ground a lot...Will never be a great pass rusher...Was actually benched as a senior.

Rod Wright

6'5 300

Strengths:
Big with a large frame that he could easily pack some additional pounds onto...An excellent natural athlete...Very quick and explosive with a burst...Strong and can hold his ground...Has great range and makes plays all over the field...Will penetrate and cause problems in the backfield...Has a lot of experience...Might be able to play defensive end in a 3-4 scheme...Still has quite a bit of potential.

Weaknesses:
An underachiever who doesn't always play up to his physical ability...Is not a hard worker...Technique is lacking...Will play too high at times...Allows blockers to lock on...Motor and stamina are very questionable...Has some durability concerns and dealt with a nagging angle injury for most of his junior season...Lacks desire.

My Thoughts
There is no better make your linebackers look better then giving them more than ample human bodies to eat up blocks, especially in the Bates* scheme. What better way to welcome Hawk and Podge into the NFL to give them a big fatty to road block? The knock on both of these guys that is cuasing them to drop are their motors. With our load, and yes you may knock me for saying this, our load of decent-to-good defensive lineman drafting one of this "big-boned" men would only add another fatty to the rotation. He can take plays off on the bench. Now I value Watson highly over Wright, I wouldn't mind both.

Devin Aramashadou

6'2 201 4.35

Strengths:
Had good size with long arms and legs...Very quick with a burst...Good natural athletic ability...A deep threat with an impressive yards per catch average who can stretch the field...A tremendous leaper who knows how to go get the ball...Has great balls skills...Consistent and productive...Also a top kick returner.

Weaknesses:
Timed speed is only average...A bit of a one-dimensional vertical receiver who doesn't provide much help in the short to intermediate areas...Doesn't run great routes...Shies away from contact and doesn't like going over the middle...Always had a lot of talent around him...Did not put up the big numbers you'd expect.

My Thoughts
I think Aramashadou is the most impressive darkhorse in this draft, he has all the intangibles to be our new J-Walk. Big, fast, great hands, major ups. He could be our new homerun hitter, only, if only, we would take him instead of a no-name star =(. I hope he lasts until the bottom of the 4th!

How 'bout Jeremy Mincey as our run-stuffing DE before bringing in KGB on passing downs???

Sure, and to help with rotation take Kampy Jr, since we got A.J and that would be decent chemistry. Plus, if he really is Kampy Jr, I love him already.

One report:
Strengths:
Has outstanding strength...Tough and competitive...Very intense with a non-stop motor...Has solid speed and quickness...Powerful at the point...Versatile and can drop into coverage...Hard worker with top intangibles...Had a great senior year.

Weaknesses:
Is undersized and lacks the height and bulk you look for...Has short arms...Didn't break into the starting lineup until about half way through his junior year...Has dealt with some injuries and durability is a concern...Probably can't get bigger.

Notes:
Tied a Scouting Combine record with 45 reps of 225 lbs. in the bench press...Could potentially move to outside linebacker...Notched 9.5 sacks in 2005...Stock is really on the rise and he is drawing a lot of positive attention.

You know that TT is going to snag a QB at some point here. It's the Packer way.

I'm hoping it'll be Omar Jacobs. I've heard some good things about the guy. With work, he could become an NFL QB. Or maybe trade fodder for the Pack down the road, like Wolf used to do. Besides, every team needs a guy named "Omar."

If the Pack picks up another O-lineman, I'm rooting for Guy Whimper. Another killer name.
