OK you Techie Rats! I got wind of a job offer from a college alum that I wanted to share. In case anyone wants more details, PM me.

We are conducting an executive search for the Strategic Execution Officer for a global 3.0 Web company with offices in Europe and the Washington, DC area. However, candidates can live anywhere in the U.S. or Europe. Must be comfortable working remotely and open to frequent travel to the Washington, DC area and Europe. The company has developed a very unique, patent-pending, and web-based technology that enables the user to combine and evaluate existing knowledge into potentially valid new knowledge. Company has already raised significant equity from some very well known investors. Company is currently being pursued by VCs. Need someone that has successfully grown and sold a web-based business that generated revenues through membership, monthly/yearly subscriptions and/or internet advertising. Must have successfully grown a web-based business, then sold it or led it through an IPO. Must be a leader and manager, able to recruit first-rate talent---both as employees and outside contractors---and tightly coordinate their efforts. Must have experience building and leading sales, marketing and/or product development. Company culture is extremely academic, intellectual and creative. Need a leader who is extremely strong at creating and executing a strategic plan. This is an excellent opportunity to get into a company in a pivotal leadership role before it closes its Series B.


POSITION: Strategic Execution Officer. This is a management position, but the right candidate must be comfortable in a "do-it-yourself" small company environment. Need a "hands-on" manager who can just roll up his/her sleeves and get the job done. Must be very, very good at creating AND executing a strategic plan. The right candidate must be a leader and manager. Must have experience building and leading sales, marketing and/or product development.

COMPENSATION: This is a key hire for this company. Board is willing to put together the right package for the right candidate.


MANAGEMENT STYLE/CORPORATE CULTURE: This position will be reporting directly to the co-founder and CEO. As a key member of the management team, you will actively participate in the important decisions facing the company. The CEO is very big on delegation. He will not "check up" on you or look over your shoulder. He expects his team to keep him apprised, as necessary. He believes in hiring the best people, then providing them with clear incentives and responsibilities. Focus is on results.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


-- Must have held a leadership position within the last 5 years at a web- based business that generated revenues through membership, monthly/yearly subscriptions and/or internet advertising. Must have been responsible for leading sales, marketing and/or product development.


-- Must have successfully grown a web-based business, then sold it or led it through an IPO.


-- Must be able to ensure proper tech staffing and productivity including: Server configuration, Hosting, Security, Load balancing, Guaranteed 24/7 up time, Software versioning management, Rapid release strategy, etc.


-- Must have someone with significant experience leading sales, marketing and/or product development for a web-based business that generated revenues through membership, monthly/yearly subscriptions and/or internet advertising.


-- Must understand how to maximize efficiency and communication in a globally distributed company. Most of the current team is located in Europe and in the Northeastern part of the U.S.


-- Must be a leader and manager, able to recruit first-rate talent---both as employees and outside contractors---and tightly coordinate their efforts. Must have experience building and leading sales, marketing and/or product development. Must have a rolodex and be able to evaluate and manage all of the best third party vendors. (Preferably the right candidate will have a successful past history with these third party vendors).
