Jason Hunter
DE, Appalachian State

Based on his size, looks like he would project as an OLB. The more the merrier, I guess.

Pros: He is a good athlete, but lacks the bulk and strength to hold up unless he is in a scheme where he is covered up. He is undersized and could get overmatched when teams run at him, and he needs time to develop. He must show he can contribute on special teams, especially coverage units.
Cons: He is an athlete who slips blocks well and is very tough to block on the edge due to his exceptional quickness and fine speed. He shows good change-of-direction skills with a burst of speed and the ability to close on the ball. He is active with his hands and can stay clean and on his feet to make sure tackles. In pass coverage, he has little experience and needs major work in that key area.
Numbers: In 2005, he made 101 tackles with 24.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and one pick. Ran his pro day 40s in 4.55 and 4.53. Had a 34.5-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-2 broad jump and 22 bench presses.
Skinny: Late-developing prospect with big-play ability and a possible surprise starter with refinement and patience needed for him to settle into a scheme. Major sleeper and fine late gamble. Top 250 prospect with some upside potential.
