At the top of the heap is an obvious pick. Favre's body of work is unmatched among active quarterbacks. The three-time NFL MVP ranks second in career passing yards (57,500 -- 3,861 shy of Dan Marino), and is poised to break Marino's all-time record for touchdown passes. Favre has 414 career TD passes, six shy of the record. Favre's résumé also includes back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, including a victory in Super Bowl XXXI. The face of the Packers' franchise since the early 1990s, Favre has been a fierce competitor and a model of durability. His consecutive games streak is at 237 and counting, an NFL record for quarterbacks. He also boasts 15 consecutive seasons with at least 300 completions and 3,000 passing yards.

They have Hawk at 49 and Woodson as one of their odd-men out.

A no brainer.....

Yep. And look at numbers 49 and 50! Ha ha ha, looks like we got a couple of possible Hall of Famers on our teams that we didn't expect.

I understand why they put those two on the list - but it's still really funny. SO MANY things could happen to these guys between now and then.

But yeah, if AJ replicates those numbers, while improving on them a little bit - then has a long career of that consistent play, then it's easy to see.

That is an understatement

I think the odd man out category was more interesting than the top 50.

They sure don't say nice things about Peyton's little brother do they?

I'm sorry, when I think of Ray Lewis - I think of someone who should be in jail vs in the HOF.

Being a part time weightlifter, I like the description in Larry Allen's bio 'an assisted 700lb bench press'. Ya, with assistance, I moved 4000lbs of glass and steel 100 miles. I was assisted by 5 gallons of gasoline

Interesting article, until he starts reaching to fill out the 50. How can he look at some of the 2nd year players??? I like Hawk too, but at this point do I say the Hall is a distinct possibility? Matt Leinhart?

Couple of other players I can't see there...Moss - he's running out of time to put up numbers. Larry Johnson - same story - doesn't have the time to put together the numbers.

ya, I know. But my opinion is that MI is the LEAST deserving player in the hall. I really don't know why he's there. I dunno, maybe there are other receivers with his type of numbers. But him over Art Monk baffles me.

From the 'odd men out' and 'on the bubble' lists, 2 names stand out...I don't know how you can count out Roethlisberger at this point! Personally don't like him, but if he gets another ring in Pitt, by hook or by crook, he'll get consideration. And I think Boldin has a solid chance. To say that one injury that cost him 6 games is going to matter is ridiculous.

Yea.

Bottom line that list is funny. Just another way for a man to earn some money. :)

If we took the time to widdle it down, then that list of 50 should be stopped at 15-20 and then the arguments of credibility begun.

I'd guess that he was assisted only by a bench shirt. But I agree with the idea that bench shirts are ridiculous. If you can't do it raw, then you can't do it.
