Packers running back P.J. Pope had arthroscopic knee surgery and likely will miss a couple of weeks, coach Mike McCarthy said after practice today.

Pope hurt the knee in Saturday’s scrimmage. With Vernand Morency also out with a knee injury, the Packers likely will have only three running backs plus fullback Corey White to carry the ball in Saturday’s preseason opener at Pittsburgh.

Other injury news:

-- Left guard Daryn Colledge has a mid-back sprain. McCarthy said he hopes Colledge will practice Tuesday.

-- Receiver Greg Jennings dropped out of practice today because of a hip flexor problem. McCarthy said Jennings’ hip has been sore the past week. Jennings also missed time during OTAs with a similar injury.

-- Tackle Tony Moll has a shoulder stinger.

-- Lastly McCarthy said he was not sure why defensive end DeVon Hicks did not practice today.

As did I.

We are looking really thin at RB.

I'm worried about Jennings hip. He should just sit out all preseason if he has to. There is no reason to have him in there putting wear on his hip.

Agree; any loss of Jennings or Driver would really hurt

He certainly wouldn't be very sharp once the season began.

HOnestly Ras, Jennings seems liek the type of guy that just knows what he has to do. I know he's only in his second year, but I think his body is more imortant right now than practice.

2005? This is just normal training camp injuries. Nobody, besides a TE that may not have made the team, is projected to miss any regular season games.

You have to play (get the real work in) in the Preseason to get ready and ensure a better chance of completing a 16 game schedule.

The muscles have to be conditioned properly under real circumstances.

Pope's chance of making the team is diminished.

I fear he attempts to come back too soon and causes a greater injury.

He will be under a lot of stress.
