So - my coworker is 1st cousins w/ Hunter, grew up together and went to college at the same time. Talked with him at a training conference and got a quick update.

Hunter is a smart mutha - something like 1500 on SATs. He actually doesn't really like football and will give it up in the next 2 years - oddly enough because he doesn't want to get seriously injured. He's also doing night school at Kellogg.

Guy has got it together - would've been sweet to keep him as a Packer...

I'd retire immediately if I had to play for the Bears. No wonder he doesn't like football.

He's busy counting the raisins in Raisin Bran to make sure it's 2 scoops.

Hillenmeyer is way overrated in Chicago. He simply benefits from the fellas around him. If he were on the Packers roster, he wouldn't even start.

Some would say he's overshadowed - I think he's been 3rd in team tackles for the last few years - not too bad.

Hillenmeyer is okay, but no better than average.

A LB finishing 3rd in tackles for a team that plays a 4-3 defense isn't anything special. A closer look at his tackle totals doesn't look impressive. He had 48 tackles last year, 63 the year before, and 76 the year before that. Not very impressive. Then again, he's the first LB taken off the field in passing situations. The downside with him is that he never seems to make any plays. Four years with the Bears (one as a backup) has netted him 3.5 sacks, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and just 6 passes defensed.

That's unfortunate for him. I've heard so many people say that it was such a big mistake to cut him..But he is an average player at best..

The Bears will, unfortunately, be fine without him..

I guess you have a unique perspective on that.......seeing as how the Bears pretty much sucked for twenty years before the last few.

All you pack fans live in the past ? Wake up, smell the frozen tundra, live life in the here and now. Here and Now Da BEARS are the class of the NFCN, and the NFC for that matter. After watching them play last night, they have a very good chance of going to the SB again this season and winning it this time ! 8-)
Rex and Kyle looked sharp, the "D" looked great ! Looks like we will pick up where we left off, kicking arse and taking names ! :glug:
