PACKERS VS BEARS SUNDAY OCTOBER 7, 2007

After speaking with the organizers of both America's Pack Tailgate Party (held in the BF Steakhouse parking lot) and Fuzzy's Tailgate Party (held in Bart Starr Plaza outside of the Resch Center), I finally have all the details set for our gathering. I was originally going to let you guys vote on which tailgate party that we attend, but since America's Pack will not let us in without purchasing tickets in advance, I don't think that is an option for us. Besides, I think Fuzzy's will work out better because first of all, it's closer to the stadium, plus it's right next to scalpers alley, for those that may be interested in getting a ticket for the game.

We will officially meet inside the gates of the tailgate party at 4:15 p.m. (Gates open 3 hrs prior to the game). You can buy your ticket at the entrance for $25 (or $45 if you want the VIP package, see link below for the two differences).

FUZZY'S HAS OFFERED US A $5 PER PERSON DISCOUNT IF WE BUY 10 PASSES IN ADVANCE. ANYONE THAT IS ABSOLUTELY 100% COMMITTED AND IS INTERESTED IN DOING THIS, PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA PM. I WILL PROVIDE FURTHERS DETAILS.

Here is the link for complete information on the two different tailgate parties. I've spoken to a few of you and it seems the majority is happy with the standard party vs the VIP party.

http://www.titletowntickets.com/tailgate_party/

By far the majority of you have indicated that you would much rather attend an organized outdoor tailgate like this vs having to bring chairs, coolers, grills, food, beer and cleaning it all up.

WANT TO START THE PARTY BEFORE FUZZY'S ?
Immediately surrounding the area of our tailgate party are three sports bars who all have outdoor tents set up for drinks, food, live music, etc. If some of you want to meet earlier to get a chance to walk around and experience all of this, we can certainly set up a meeting spot and time to do so. In fact, I recommend that we meet at 3:00 p.m. at the tent outside Stadium View. Then around 4, we walk over to Fuzzy's tailgate party. Walking around and seeing all the different parties going on is half the fun! People always walk all over the place with open containers, but I noticed this year that the city put up signs all over the place condemning open intoxicants outside of gated areas. Not sure if they will be enforcing this or not. They haven't in the past.

PARKING
Expect to fork out $25-$30 per vehicle for parking. Some of you (PIP) don't have to worry about this because your hotel is within walking distance. For others, you may want to speak to fellow rats about car-pooling or something if you want to save a few bucks.

For those that want to do stadium tours or see the HOF, these fill up very quickly on home game weekends. I don't think they take reservations, so you are pretty much on your own to do that. I know most everyone will be in town on Sat already and some will want to do the "tourist" things and others will not. We can talk amongst each other to see about perhaps getting together for things on Sat. I'm always up for going to the casino

DON'T HAVE GAME TICKETS BUT STILL WANT TO TAILGATE? There are alot of you in the same boat. So, after the tailgate party, we'll just walk over to an area sports bar and watch it on TV. Now, I can certainly understand people flying in from out of state not wanting to do this, but for those of us within a couples hours drive, it's not a big deal. On that note, Joemailman, BF4MVP, JustinHarrell, DigitalDean, etc... there is no excuse why your asses should not be at this tailgate party!!!

Anyhow, I think that's about it. If you have any questions at all about the area, fee free to drop me a PM.

Re: HOF and stadium tours, I took my HOF and stadium tour on the Monday morning after attending the Sunday night game.

The HOF was virtually deserted and the tour consisted of just me and two guides.

So if you are still around Green Bay Monday morning, you might give this time frame a chance.

This really is a good suggestion. The guided tours are still small and 'contained' but the HOF is mobbed.

Count my vote as two for the tailgate. Fuzzy's sounds just fine.
Stupid question, but having never met any PR's before, how will I know I'm partying with the right people??!! Not that any Packer fan could be the wrong people.........you know what I mean......right?

Maybe not, I'd rather not rile up the natives.....when you see Madtown you should greet him in Spanish as a nice touch.

Something like "Hello good Sir"

which would be "Hola Pendejo" pronounced (ola pen day ho ) in spanish.

Hopefully Mad won't see this and you can surprise him!

I also vote for the Fuzzy's tailgate party.

I'll wear an Oregon Ducks cap to identify myself--I doubt there are many Oregon Ducks fans in Wisconsin.

I am aware there is a town south of Madison called Oregon. They just don't pronounce Oregon as "ORE-ee-gun" the way it should be pronounced.

Good Point Harvey, I should mention that it is not mandatory to pay for parking, but you are going to have a 15 minute walk. Especially with losing another 400 spaces this year. Personally, going with a carload of people who each throw in 5 bucks and having a designated driver is worth it, plus we always park close because we usually are tailgating with our own setup.

Well, BF4, it's going to be helpful for those that are coming here without a ticket. You'd be amazed at how much the price drops on the ticket when it's 5 minutes to kickoff. I share your resentment with scalpers though!

from what I understand, it's all the same party, there are just different colored wristbands based upon which party you paid for. The VIP probably gets you inside the Resch for use of indoor bathrooms, more drinks are included besides beer and some other food is available as well. I'm with ya though, I'm plenty happy with beer and brats!

How they can find a room: "We pool all of our hotels, and any of the properties that do have space available, they'll contact us and let us know that. We know about availability even outside of the area, so if there (are) rooms to be had, we normally know where they are."
I highly suggest using this. Their # is 1-888-867-3342, (920)-494-9507

GBRulz mentioned that parking can run $25-30. I normally park in a lot just NW of the stadium for $15. I'm not sure where Fuzzy's is, so I don't know how long a walk it would be. For anyone interested, you turn north on to Ridge off of Lombardi. Go one block north to St Agnes Dr. and turn left. Go west one block to Briquelet and turn right. There are 2 lots on the west side of Briquelet

Parking over there is going to be a little different this year. The packers have leased some of the lots in that area to accomodate season ticket holders whose spots in the Lambeau lot that were lost, due to the new security wall. I don't know exactly which lots, but I read something about the lots in the area of St. Agnes drive.

The Fuzzy's tailgate party is in that area between the front doors of the Resch Center and Ray Nitschke field (behind the Don Hutson center). If you want free parking, your best bet is to drive south on Holmgren Way.

No way! You've been to Camp Randall and have probably made the 10-15 block walk before because the parking at Lambeau can't possibly be worse than landlocked madison.

The best thing about the walk is mingling and saying hello to all the fellow fans. Sometimes you even get a free beer and brat for your troubles.

Parking for free and strolling a mile in a swarm of green and gold is a much better idea than dropping that kind of bank to park.

If you walk down Dayton street they often have apartments from the third story that have a fishing rod hooked to 12 ounce glasses of beer. They let the line down to the sidewalk for anybody to slam a brewski that wants to.

Absolutely frickin classic. :knll:

Think you can fold up a ping pong table in your car, Partial?

If I wanted to walk a mile, I'd just walk from my house! Actually we have done that a couple of times, but that was just to meet friends who were tailgating. I certainly wouldn't want to walk if I were carrying a bunch of stuff! I will be getting there earlier though with a friend. We're bringing a cooler with bloody mary stuff.

Half the fun is walking around the stadium area just visiting all the tailgaters. I have no doubt that many parties will be in full swing by noon already that day.

Pretty sure I can make it... I work PT at a golf course on the weekends, but think I can get it off.

Fuzzy's at 4ish???

Earlier - 3ish near the tents by the Stadium View???

Last time I went up there to meet PR's, we had no idea who the others were... you all know how chaotic it gets up there on game day. Unless we have a specific spot, at a specific time, it's likely a lot of us will just end up wandering around in frustration looking for any sign of another PR.

Can we set up a specific spot to meet earlier, as opposed to just saying "by the tents"??? Or did I not get the memo with more specifics???

Let me know. Thanks.

If you guys are ok with this, I'd like to collect cell #'s of the people that are going. If you don't want to do that, that's fine. Don't worry, your number is protected by the PR Privacy Act. Your information will not be sold or shared to a third party

Airline prices can vary wildly even for the same flight. Sign onto travelocity, expedia, priceline and then SW Airlines and get what's cheapest. The more they treat you like cattle, the cheaper the flight will be. Does Midwest fly out there? They are worth a few extra bucks.

Mad, it's weird prices from San Fran to GB are much pricier than San Diego to GB...like $150 . I'm not sure how far you are from SD though but it's 306 round trip to GB.

In some cases Milwaukee is cheaper, but usually not enough to make it worth the 2 hour drive.

If MTP wants to fly into Milw I can pick him up.

I checked Midwest's website, and it varies quite a bit depending upon the dates of departure and return. Best deals are Thursday-Tuesday.

$254 to fly from San Fran to Green Bay on Thursday 10/4 and back on Tuesday, 10/9.

Leave Friday instead of Thursday, (still returning on Tuesday) and the price jumps to $377.

Leave on Thursday and return on Monday: $516.

Leave on Friday and return Monday: $639.

All of the SF-GB flights have a connection in Milwaukee.

If you fly San Fran to Milwaukee and catch a ride from there, it's $280.00 no matter how you schedule it, and there are nonstop flights available.

These are just the prices for Midwest, so you'll probably be able to beat them with someone else.

Midwest is well-known for having great customer service, though, so that might be a factor to consider---especially since you're a first-time flyer. Flying Midwest exclusively, I've never had a bad flying experience like you hear about so often from people. Food for thought.

Food for thought. As long as the damn plane takes off and lands without falling apart I am fine with any accommodation. Trust me it cant be any worse the a bus rides out of Mexico.

So all SF to MILW are $280 ROUND trip? I might consider doing that cuz its half price. I prefer to do the flying Friday night, sleep on the plane, get to GB Sat morning, hang out do whatever stay Sunday night and come back early Monday.

This is what I was looking at:
American Airlines operated by AMERICAN EAGLE
11:55pm San Francisco, CA (SFO)
9:00am - Sat, Oct 6 Next day arrival
Green Bay, WI (GRB)
7hrs 5min - 1 Stop
Change planes in Chicago, IL (ORD)
$494
per person

It's only an hour and a half layover, considering he will board his GB flight around 7:30-7:45 and when flying into O'Hare, it's not necessarily a bad thing. It certainly lives up to it's rep as the highest percentage of flight delays and late arrivals vs any other airport.

I've done Fuzzy Ticket Tours (with hotel and tailgate) both times I've been to Lambeau. Fuzzy does a real great job and the food is plentiful and delicious. Inside the center, there isn't that much room to sit down or many places to. I went 2 years ago and that was my recollection. They had a DJ there and it was a real fun atmosphere. The lines at the bar move pretty quickly.

Wish I could come along but it is not to be this season. Have fun kids!

Maybe worse places than me but the sound of squad cars in a couple of my neighborhoods was pretty much all night back in the day. I remember getting woken up back in 1980 at 3:00am because a guy in a car was literally chasing his girl around the parking lot in his car.....she's screaming and I was so used to the crap I'm yelling, "shut up, I'm trying to sleep".

Pretty cold looking back. She eventually ran off and all ended well.

Lambeau Field Atrium To Feature New Pregame Party This Season

posted 09/05/2007

PREGAME FIELD PASSES AMONG FEATURED DOOR PRIZES; OTHER FAN NOTES FOR SUNDAY

Packers fans attending games at Lambeau Field this season will have a new option for pregame festivities as the Lambeau Field Atrium comes alive with a new pregame party.

Beginning at 8 a.m. when Atrium doors open to ticketed fans, the main floor area will feature live music and concessions. This week's band is Spin.

All party attendees are encouraged to sign up next to the guest relations desk for a number of door prizes that will be awarded at 9:30 a.m. Fans must be present to win. The featured door prize is two pregame field passes to that day's game. Other prizes include Curly's game cards, Packers Hall of Fame passes and Miller Brewing company items.

The pregame party will take place prior to each noon game this season.

* * *

FANS CAN EXIT ATRIUM AND LATER RE-ENTER STADIUM PRIOR TO GAME: A new policy allowing fans to exit the Atrium and re-enter the stadium prior to kickoff will make its debut Sunday. Game attendees who wish to experience Atrium attractions such as the pregame party, Packers Pro Shop, Packers Hall of Fame and Curly's Pub, can exit the stadium at the designated door at the Miller Brewing Company Gate prior to 10:30 a.m. (for a noon kickoff) and receive a readmittance pass to re-enter the stadium at any gate. Each attendee must have his or her ticket stub AND the readmittance pass to be allowed back inside the stadium. Fans should note the pat-down process will need to be repeated when re-entering.

This program was developed from fan feedback over the past few seasons.

* * *

OTHER REMINDERS FOR FANS: The parking lots will open for parking clients Sunday at 8 a.m. (four hours prior to kickoff). The Atrium opens at 8 a.m., as well, for ticketed fans to enjoy all the Atrium has to offer.

Gates to stadium seating areas will open at 9:45 a.m. (2 hours, 15 minutes prior to kickoff).

All fans entering Lambeau Field are reminded that they will be subject to and should expect to be patted down by security personnel before going through stadium gates as a continuation of security measures in place since 2001. Fans are encouraged to arrive early at stadium gates to help facilitate this security measure.

Fans also are reminded of the carry-in policy which prohibits bags, backpacks, duffel bags, fanny packs, umbrellas, food and beverages, video cameras and still photo cameras with lenses over 12 inches. Stadium seats consisting of no more than a seat cushion and back rest are permitted as long as they are not wider than 18 inches. Fans should note that any items left at the gate will not be able to be picked up after the game. More detailed gameday information can be found online at www.packers.com/gameday/lambeau_field_a_to_z_guide.

There are a ton of sports bars all with different kind of memorabillia on display. Then there are places for good live music. Then places for dancing. Places for the drinks you won't find anywhere else. Places with great microbrews, etc.

I mean each place is good for something different, it's kind of a vague question there, zig! It depends on what you want to do or see.

I haven't done this for many years, but we used to start off in Appleton and harass the opposing team who always hung out at the hotel sports bar where the visiting team always stays. Then we'd come back to GB and party.

I don't think we have officially planned any kind of get together other than Sunday though.

Start throwing out ideas for Sat nite....

If I'm able to come up Saturday, I think you should give us the grand tour beginning early. Start in Appleton (can you show us the Paradise Club for quick entertainment

Then tour of GB

Are we all getting together Sat or Sun or both? I would be up for both I suppose as long as it is Sat night because i'll have to work in the day.I might even end up in WI or somewheres in the midwest on Friday night. I probably will catch a bus or get a renta ride. Planning on just walking around where the stadium is on Saturday checking stuff out. Im down for whatever that night.

What happened to Columbia?

Columbia was a nice place, I liked it. The layout and plan was very nice, very green. The high schools were good, not so much for the middle school that my younger brother would of gone to, but it was still satisfactory. However, the real estate market was either really high or really overpriced. For a nice, modern home, 2,700 sq ft + basement, was $700,000. Look at Mequon and you can get 3,200+basement for $550, 000.

Besides, there's just no place like home. :D

Nah, more like 2. Plenty of people commute from Kenosha. The fat 6 figure a year in Chicago is a hell of a lot of money in Kenosha and gets you a nice palace and a nice suv.

Kenosha is manageable, even though it is still 65 miles each way. You'd have to be crazy to try to commute from places like Waukesha, Mequon, New Berlin, etc. Kenosha would be the farthest I think anybody would be willing to go, even though I did know somebody that commuted from Oak Creek.

Right now I can't say I'm sure of what I'm doing one way or the other due to family stuff going on. Probably will not be sure until the week before as my better half has been sick off and on. If I make it up I may come up Saturday to party and then go home Sunday morning, or come up Sunday to party and either scalp or watch the game at the bar. Just won't be sure for a bit.

Dude, I would love to meet you and party my ass off Saturday, you could give me a tour of the Bay and teach me much. Maybe we can meet up with other rats, i've never met any of you. I want to go to this game so bad, and I especially want to get completely wasted Saturday night!!! Try to make it happen. We'd have a blast.

Does anyone have an extra ticket I can buy from you? I want to go so bad, plus it would be so cool to meet all you Packer Geeks. Come on, I'll pay double face value.

4 and 12 -- check with Mad about a ticket. I thought I read on one of these pages he had an extra ticket.

Talk to you guys tomorrow.Have no fear big homie, seems like a few if not most who are going to the game will be there Sat. I might even end up there Friday night but I got a room for Sat and Sun and anyone who I can fit in there is welcome to spend the night for free.

I sent you a PM about the ticket.

It would be nice to go 4-0 going into that game. Who would have thunk we had a chance at this point? The only bad thing: tickets will probably cost $1,000/piece. I'll likely be watching from the bar, but I'm cool with that.

Skin and myself will most likely be watching the game from a bar as well. We will be coming up on Saturday afternoon. So for all of you that will be up on Saturday night pm me and I will volunteer to be the Saturday night group coordinator unless someone like GBRulz want to volunteer since she knows where the fuck to go in Green Bay, I only got a sniffer for the nudie bar.

If I get up there by 11:30 or midnight on Saturday am I going to miss the fun?!?

I would rather work all day Sat, then head up there that evening after work and then skip work on Sunday and watch the game with Harv, Nutz and Skin at a bar.

OK.... a quick rehash on the situation......

The tailgate party on Sunday....$25 ...doors open at 3:15. It's the Fuzzy Thurston Tailgate party in the Bart Star Plaza, which is between the Resch Center and the Don Hudson Center on Armed Forces Drive. Just head towards the main doors to the Resch and you'll see it.

Please see the first page of the thread for website info, etc about the tailgate party. Just an FYI, I spoke to Bill from Titletown Tours (they do the party) and there are absolutely no carry in's to the tailgate party. no drinks, no chairs, no tables, no coolers...nada.

I can't say where exactly we will meet once inside the tailgate area.... sooo, if you haven't given me your cell number, please PM that to me. I will recognize some of you, but most are new faces, sooooo we can call/text each other on where we are. I really don't know how else to do it and am open to any ideas that guys might have.....

As far as Sat nite, be at Anduzzi's at 7:00 pm. It's near the stadium and I think easier for people to meet vs somewhere downtown. From there, the guys can go to the nudie bars, I will find something else to do with PIP and Zig, lol.

Anduzzi's is on Holmgren Way, 1 block east of Lambeau Field.

I think that is something that can be decided at the tailgate party. We are right next to scalpers alley, so I'm hoping you guys can snatch up some tickets for a decent price at the last minute.

There are 4 bars within walking distance of the tailgate party, so don't worry about finding a spot somewhere.

If you are going to have a hard time getting to the airport to Green Bay I can swing the old windstar around and pick you up if you don't mind throwing a little octane my way, and I don't mean your ass gas either.

If your getting in real early on Saturday I probably can't help you out, but if your getting in early afternoon or around noon I can come get you.
