Favre needed to feel the pressure and not force a throw he couldn't step into. He could've stepped back and bought a lot more time.

Nice work by Barnett. He pretty much kept the eagles from scoring a TD on the last series.

Bash Favre? There's nothing but censorship with some PR possé people. I'm glad I've met some classy people in Green Bay; I've made a life long friend from DeForest. I'm going back to Green Bay - no way I'll hook up with JSO trash though. No way.

Thin skinned...well more like fed up a few people here but thin skinned could be argued in this forum - with those unclassy people. I really love the Packers but fans like this does tarnish the friendly Packer legend.

GG & may the Packers win and I my hope non-PR approved prediction of a Philly win doesn't hold up.

Packnut
09-09-2007, 01:44 PM
Some obvious observations:

Our O line contrary to popular opinion has not improved.
Our youth will cost us at times again.
Harris and Woodson should not be anywhere near special teams.
Favre look's very unhappy and if this continues will not be coming back
Contrary to the Thompson doctrine, you need skill players on offense to be effective. Yajust can't plug and play.
Our D cannot be effective being on the field all the time.

Harlan Huckleby

i also noticed that the eagles tackles are holding so much that the refs just gave up on calling it, for a while at least: seems like on every pass play a de is being dragged down by an arm.

by the way...if blackmon is available to play cornerback, why isnt he returning kicks?

on a positive note: lambeau looks awesome in hd.

oh god. howie just noted that ahman already has 101 yards for houston. i REALLY didnt need to hear THAT...........

b bulldog
09-09-2007, 01:45 PM
Favre unhappy, sure but when you throw to Franks who is covered by a corner and the ball gets picked and than you throw a dump pass right to an eagle that is dropped?? The O is devoid of playmakers but Brett's pick was a huge momentum killer!

Last time I checked, the game was tied and the Packers finished the 2nd quarter by moving the ball really well, and are getting the ball back on the kickoff in the 2nd half... can't we all smile and be happy?

PackerBlues

Our D will get tired, Brett will throw two more picks and we will lose to the eagles again :x

Our Defense will never get tired, Thompson hooked it up with 11 D-linemen............So we have 11 D-linemen, 1 WR, and no running backs. YAY Teddy!!!

Jackson is looking a little less than decent, in retrospect Ahman Green has a 5.2 yard average.

can't compare that. Houston is running the sherman power run game this year, they stopped with their denver zone blocking...mostly because as I read, Sherman didn't "get it". So Green is back in an offense he thrived in, so I'm expecting him to have a good year.

On the other hand....While I am a HUGE fan of zone blocking, Green Bay's zone blocking sucks. Jackson is taking what he gets, but our zone SCHEME just does not make sense to me. I've tivo'd a few games and watched, and they aren't running a true zone ....they don't work to linebackers, they work to the sideline and take what comes to them, instead of going TO the defense.

I just don't like the scheme, so you can't blame the runner for that.

It's easier to bash Favre rather than take the time to understand what is really going on out there. The difference in the Time and room McNabb has compared to Favre is like night and day but I guess little things like that don't matter.

I guess QB's don't need to be able to step up in the pocket or throw without a 300 lb guy about to take your head off cause your pass protection sucks.

Is'nt it amazing that when McNabb had pressure he looked terrible, but now he's looking good with time? Football 101, it ain't rocket science...........

i wish we had receivers who knew how to get out of bounds in the 2 minute offense????

It was thrown to guy standing in the middle of the field he would have had to run 20 yards just to get out of bounds.

i beg to differ: on the dumpdown to brandon jackson during that last drive, brandon had plenty of room to angle toward the sideline and still get the first down but instead he turned upfield and never even attempted to do so.

but yes, many of the catches were thrown to players in the middle. i just dont see an effort to get out of bounds when they are within reach of the sideline.
