Mario Williams, DE Houston Texans

As much as I posted about him a few years back and stated that he would need a year and a half to become a stud, well hopefully for him he will become a force but I just had to post his results from today's game. Way to start the season Mario!

Good for him. I think Harrell is a similar developmental type player.

Harrell will never be close to Williams. Williams has freakish abilities, Harrell could be good, but Williams will be great.

I mean a player who needs time to adjust on the next level.

I'll take AJ Hawk any day over Mario Williams. We have a solid front 4, the further into the season we go, and his career, the better Hawk is gonna become.

Nothing against the Texans or Williams but they did play KC.

56 played well but that was about it as far as the LB's. This wasn't meant to say I wish we had had any certain player, just pointing out Mario had a nice game. Hawk has actually been quiet since the early part of the preseason. he had a miss in the open on Westbrook but that is a tough tackle for anyone who isn't named Urlacher. Hawk will be fine but I do hope he makes many impact plays this year.

Did Harrell even play today?

no, he was inactive for today's game.

I hope I'm wrong but this pick worries me.

I with you on that call GB! Specially since we heard so much about his lack of conditioning in camp. Plus coming off a major injury

Willards comment was very profound. I've studied it for about an hour now, and am just in awe with what he said. :P

I was going for a minimalist approach, as opposed to my usual excessive verbosity.

I knew Bulldog was gonna bring this up when I saw Super? Mario's stats.

It must be noted that Kansas City has by far the worst pair of starting OTs in the league.

Here's a game of what if...

What if the Packers had been in a position to draft Mario Williams. They select him and play him from day one opposite Kampy. KGB is relegated to backup status. There is never any need to move Cullen Jenkins outside, and as such he never realizes his potential as a top flight defensive end.

Isn't it interesting how one move/non-move can have a ripple effect up and down a roster?

After Michiganblew their season in the first 2 weeks the least we can do is say he was right about this and Mario truly is Super.

Good point. It's easy to play the "what if" game, but it doesn't help much.
