View Full Version : Packers at Giants: Predict the Final Score

Well, I'm 0-1 (predicting a slim Philly win) but nonetheless I'll go with the Packers in week 2. Somehow I believe in a high scoring game even though Packers offense looks downright AWFUL. Yet Giants D looks pathetic and the Giants offense looks really good even sans Jacobs. Injuries are nagging both teams - so almost even there. Actually, I'd rather had we faced Jacobs than that elusive D. Ward. Eli should be fine but good for turnovers as will Favre - but Favre is better!

Week 2: Packer 34 Giants 29

They are missing their RB and and #2 CB. Manning might also be out. I'm going to say Packers 19, Giants 13

Packers D is stoked by a gutty showing last week and vows to be the league's best defense by season's end.

AJ is embarrassed by his lackluster showing against Philly and wants to redeem himself by tearing an arm off of the next guard that gets in his way and use it to beat down a running back.

Offensive line attends Tai Chi classes together to get in synch.

DeShawn Wynn has a spiritual conversion and devotes his life to Jesus and football prior to posting his first 100 yard game in the NFL.

Packers 37, Giants 10.

The Packer offense goes from inept to ept. All part of the clever plan to lull San Diego, Minnesota, Chicago, et al, into a false sense of security.

Hey, I picked the Packers to win this one 34 -29 but I find it eeire that no one, so far, has picked the G-men. I mean, it's in NY which is no picnic - I've been there twice. The Fans can get to ya - my experience is that Giants fans are potentially the worst.

Will anyone pick the G-men? At all? Someone from the Big Apple please!?

No need to put the evil grin there Bearman, if I weren't a Packer fan I'd probably be predicting close to those scores. If Eli plays, based on what he did to a formidable defense last week in three and a half quarters, I'd see his potential success against the Packers much higher, as our defense is not, to the public eye, as good as Dallas' defense. Especially if you consider the fact that our O-line is in turmoil, our running back situation is dire, our top two wide receivers are hampered with injuries, and our best cornerback has a useless arm, 24 - 17 Eagles looks damn good to the non-Packerfan eye.

Dallas defense is more banged up though, injuries in the secondary and at LB. Harris just has a screwed up arm.

GB-12 Giants-6.

4 Fgs for Crobsy
Offense still inept,
Defense good enough,
Special teams coverage superb
Special teams returns subpar.

Two things on the Giants O worry me, Shockey and Burress, just the skills of Shockey, and just the height of Burress against our smaller DB's, but I'm banking on the Secondary having a plan to shut burress down, and shockey can't win it by himself.

Dallas also runs a 3-4, so I think the match ups in that defensive scheme might have been more favorable for the Giants attack. That and the Giants see them twice a year and this is a game they definitely want to win, divisional games are always harder fought.

I don't think the Giants are bad. They have talent. This will be a tough game--especially if Manning and Osi plays. On the road the Pack is probably a slight underdog, so I won't get too cocky about this one. All I care about is the W again. We're going to need to win ugly early to give the offense some time to get in sync.

Thank you!

I'm still waiting for AJ to be dominant.

The Tai Chi was a great help to the pass blocking, but did nothing for the run blocking.

Wynn did not have 100 yards but had two impressive TD's.

As for the prediction, I was trying to be ridiculously rosy and Favre and Wynn play well enough to make me look good. I pulled that score from the same place that Skin pulls gerbils.
