Wow is Bubba ever back.

The refs are patting their asses telling them to keep their heads up. These refs are really concerning me.

Are they San Francisco refs?

A stop here would be huge.

I know there's a lot of football left to play today, but what the heck would the national writers say about the Pack if they got a win here? Especially if they put 20+ points on the boards?

Gates is unbelievable, almost impossible to cover. Packers D doing the best to contain TD but Gates is tough.

If you are killing a team and they need 3 scores in 6 minutes, I can understadn prevetn. If they need 2 scores in 2 minutes I can understand.

What I don't understand is when 1 score makes it a close game in the 1st half and you sit back and let them pick you appart. The defense knows what is coming. They should have the advantage. I don't understand why defenses get predictable and let the offense call the shots.

We played prevent defense with 2:30 to go. That is insane. Have you ever seen an offense that couldn't score on prevent defense? It happens every time. 9 plays, 80 yards in 2 minutes with dinks and dunks. The coaches get all of the blame on that last drive. Inexcusable nut shrinkage IMO.

Great coaches strangle teams in that position. Our defense got predictable and gave up dinks and dunks.

We're looking good, only had to punt once in the half. Still, I think we should have four scores now. Defense showing up well, except on that last scoring drive. SD sounded scary good on that drive. Were we playing prevent (god, I hate prevent defenses, prevent nothing) on that drive? I'm glad we're moving the ball, but it's making me nervous. I guess we all are these days. A couple of close calls on potential turnovers.

Still, who'd a thunk it? That is, that we'd go into the halftime not only ahead but with 17 points. I hope our D comes out fired up and strangles them. Can Rivers keep it up? I will be surprised. I think we can. I'm waiting for something that shakes up their offense. Hoping.

Can't get the game on sopcast, stuck with the radio stream. Still, quite exciting!! Oh man, the tension!!!

Passing Yards to end of first half.

** 1 D. McNabb, PHI, 332
2 J. Kitna, DET, 270

3 B. Favre, GB, 185

4 S. McNair, BAL, 164
5 P. Rivers, SD, 159

McNabb is going nuts!

Where are the secondaries on both teams?

Kevin Curtis is having a career day:

Receiving Yards

1 K. Curtis, PHI, 205

2 R. Williams, DET, 167

3 B. Westbrook, PHI, 98

4 A. Gates, SD, 91

5 A. Boldin, ARI, 69

Good defenses have bad days. I mean, the Bears gave up 30+ points to the Bucs last year. What's important is that the rest of the team plays well to make up for it.

Passing is OK if they are lining up for the run, but you don't empty the backfield. That makes it predictable.

We can't run on a decent DL. I'm not sure if I'd run on 3rd and one either. Now I would have a back back there as a decoy. But we pass to set up the run. I can't blame MM for that one too much.

The catch by the rookie Floyd on an earlier drive was absolutely ridiculous and lucky too. The receivers are making Rivers look better than he is today. If the Packers' receivers were this "on" today, then Favre would have 100 more yards and that touchdown to Franks.

Honestly, I'm a lot more enthused by "we can move the ball and score points on this defense" than I am deflated by "our defense is not as invincible as some might have thought." Good teams can score points on good defenses. The mark of a good defense is that it keeps the offense in the game, which it has done.

Absolutely! We're just frustrated because we went up by ten and then gave the lead back. For a moment, we saw a great upset and now we're pissed off at the thought of losing - honestly, if we started out behind and stayed behind, we wouldn't be half so frustrated. Have we all forgotten how much we wanted a game in which we at least 'stayed in' the game? Well, let's see how it plays out.

But we have to stop them here, on this drive, lol.
