Congrats to #4 on tying Marino today. Winning makes it more a special day and moment for him. He looked like he might cry out there. He rolled the dice and waited for the team to rebuild and now that patience is paying off. He looks like he cant believe what was happening. The camera shots of him covering his head on that last chargers drive was agonizing.

Yeah it is good to see Farve jumping up and down and excited the way he was the past 2 weeks.

3-0

And more importantly...

2-0 at home against some good teams. And it will just get colder

Grats Farve! Go Pack!

I think everyone is starting to believe. Fans and TEAM alike.

So they stoned us at the goal line.

Our defense got us the ball back with 2:30 to go!

Give us a second chance and we will score.

Pleassse, the offense stoned itself on that messed up drive. Chargers didnt cause it.

I have a special "420" tribute I have to do now. 8-)

When the Packers were on the 2 yard line 1st and goal I was thinking this could be it! 421!! Instead he gave it to Jackson to score the winnng TD! There is always next week. Are we destined to go 16-0 like Shula's old club? We will see!!

Just like 420 was achieved. :D

Both Marino and Favre got their 420 in an IDENTICAL 240 starts.

That is nuts.

Is the yardage in reach this year, or would that take another season?

He has to average something like 240 yards per game for 16 games to break the yardage record. He is ahead of the pace after today's game. 8-)

I'll bet Marino's didn't make his team 3-0. Dan was pretty washed up when he threw it. Brett looks fantastic.

To start the season he needed 3,862 (242/game).
Unofficially, he has 861 right now.
So he needs 3,001 in 13 games (231/game from here on out)

The last three years he has had 3885, 3881 and 4088 yards.
The two before that he had 3361 and 3658.

With the way they run the offense now, 40 attempts/game the record should be reachable.

Exactly. Brett's commitment to the game and preparing/conditioning himself to be effective is something that can't be overlooked. He will be respected for his atleticism this season as much as for anything else he'll do.

He's doing remarkable things at an age when most players have already retired.

On the postgame show Marino said that he lost the game where he threw 420, and that lead to sort of mixed emotions in the locker room. He said he was happy for Bret that he could reach the milestone in a victory. Hopefully Brett can continue to reach milestones in victories this year.

In case someone tries to lessen this accomplishment by stating that it was more the short passing game of the WC offense rather than Favre's talent let them know that the godfather of the WC offense, Joe Montana, had 273 TD passes in 16 seasons. Then ask them to explain the discrepancy.

I've heard the WC offense argument too many times.

Brett needed 241 a game at the begining of the season. He is ahead of schedule. At his current pace Brett will exceed the yardage record during the Rams game.

Go, Brett, Go!!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. It's still a long season. But I think this proves we can play with anyone.

Greg Jennings has to be living a dream. Both #400 and #420 went to Jennings on huge plays.

Actually he lost the game that he broke Fran Tarkenton record of 324. 420 was his last TD pass, so it really didn't mean all that much to him at the time.

With Brett, it's the old west offense - west coast + the gunslinger :D

I was at the game as was pissed when they threw for it on 3 and 1 and 4 and 1. They should off ran it in and thought it was horrible play calling. It was obvious they were trying to help Favre get the record. So, when they scored the last one it seemed like M3 didn't want to screw up again by letting Brett throw it. He will get his record. Aside from that moment it was an awesome game and happy for Brett. Someone even brought a TD tracker for Brett. Not sure if it was shown on TV.

For me it wasn't the throw as much as the formation. Put Wynn back there and play action at least.
