Well it's 7am on the West coast. Head is kinda pounding after drink a gang of Sauza last night. Figured I would get some practice for the posters game next weekend. Really looking forward to it but...

Looking past this week is a bad idea. Historically both teams have had close games where it didnt matter who was the favorite, who had the better record, and where the game was at. This might be the toughest game of the first half of the season. The vikings are not better then the eagles or Chargers and maybe even the giants but they are a NFC North rival who would love nothing more then to run the fun us Packer backers have been having the last few weeks.

Luckily for us they have several bigmouth players and a head coach who is more creative when it comes to finding new ways to put his foot in his mouth then running a NFL offense. They have given the Green & Gold several reminders there is a game today and that they think they can hang with the Packers.

All I can say is this, when people keep talk smack they usually end up getting punched in the mouth. Let's come out swinging!!

Ras, are you going to the game? Can you get a pic of Favre throwing #421 and Sharper being left in the dust? k thanks

A shot of Longwell missing a 40 yarder would be a nice pic, too

Rastak

Let's get this done today Packers. The lady and I are going to go to a sports bar and get some lunch and watch a little bit of the game.

Go Pack!!! Go Silver Fox!!! 421 to DD! 422 to Bubba! Favre runs one in on a broken play! That's what I am looking for today!

Packers 27, Vikings 17

5 more wins and you can start punching playoff tickets.
6 more wins and you can start punching Lambeau playoff tickets

6 wins in 12 games. A good start can go a long way.

from nfl.com

Packers declared RB Brandon Jackson, DB Frank Walker, LB Desmond Bishop, DT Orrin Thompson, G Allen Barbre, DT Justin Harrell, DT Daniel Muir, and DE Mike Montgomery inactive for Week 4.

Greg Jennings is active for Green Bay. Vernand Morency is also up, and is likely to start against Minnesota.

My stomach is all topsy turvy - I'm REALLY worked up for this one.

If Packers play well then I won't be posting much as this game is live on Danish TV. Normally I watch game pass (outside US only I believe) on the PC and hence is close by but should the unforgiven happen that Vikes....nah I can't bring myself to utter the words.

GG to Packer fans all around the world - that means you too, Rastak, you closet Packer backer 8-)

I am scared as to whether or not I'm getting the game on the NFL Ticket today. I live in Highland, IN, Chicagoland in terms of TV News, Networks, etc. Until this week, the NFL Ticket has blacked out the Pack here, but that's cuz they've been on Fox here, because the Bears haven't played at the same time. The whole reason I purchased it was for weeks like this where Fox will play the Bears game, leaving me unable to watch the Pack, so, the NFL Ticket better give me the game!!

Maybe someone can help me out. Is there anyways to stream the game? I normally just go to a bar and watch but I can't do that today. Thanks.

Is Patler or Pack4to84 around? They'd know. I think you have to go to NFL.com and purchase a package and watch that way. You may be able to buy the "season" and have a week or two to cancel if you don't like it, a free way to watch one game, if that's all you need.

It would not surprise me if Green Bay Loses; there is always the helldome curse and if we turn the ball over this game can go either way

I don't usually post while watching, but if the NFL Ticket blacks me out because I'm considered in the "region" (even though I'm in Indiana), I'll be posting through the game, but, hey, where the hell is everybody? Out getting pizza and beer? Or do we have a lot of churchgoers here?

Something that I think would be interesting is having KGB as a LB on an obvious passing down.

Jenkins/Williams/Jolly/Kampman as the down 4

KGB lined up outside Jenkins, either on a TE or on a FB. Worse case is they send a TE and a FB to take KGB and everyone else gets 1 on 1. Best case is KGB shreds a TE and forces a fumble or gets a sack.

So, are you suggesting four backers and only three db's? What good does that do? Are we really scared of their tight ends or something? Hawk, Poppinga, and Barnett obviously aren't coming out.

I can see if you only have two or three downlineman, but, I don't like that, no pressure.

RashanGary
09-30-2007, 12:46 PM
You take out Poppinga and line up KGB as an obvious pass rusher. You don't even mask it, you just tell them to stop him with a TE or FB if they can.

MadtownPacker
09-30-2007, 12:53 PM
The last time I recall them doing that KGB could have had an easy pick but dropped the ball.

Gosh we sure are lucky MN doesn't have a competent QB

Jarrett Bush was beat deep bad there by Sydney Rice; he was beaten by Rice twice that series, but Rice could not come down with the first ball

RashanGary
09-30-2007, 01:10 PM
Yup, they took their shots and missed. They had us beat but that is part of the game. We are lining up to stop the run and give the pass becuase we don't think Holcomb can beat us. So far so good but that is a bit concerning.

4and12to12and4
09-30-2007, 01:11 PM
On ESPN they actually said Peterson wouldnt start because they didn't want him to get the shit beat out of him this early in the season. Talk about being scared of a hard hitting defense.

30 other QB's, and it's 7-0. That was a joke.

Yes, that was a fun deal; I wish we were not playing though because I think you will benefit from the deal this week more than I would. But long term it was a deal I needed to make. Trading is always fun. I hope we have the two high scores this week; hopefully I have one more point though :)

AP is such a huge player maker for the vikings. I need to stop thinking about it, because it just pisses me off that TT did nothing of value to help our running game.

I am not trying to start a TT bashing thread, because i love the picks he has made at WR. But damn, thinking about Harrell for our st round pick instead of trading up for Lynch looks like a Mike Sherman type of draft mistake

I agree; but Packer run game won't come tonight. If Packers D can't stop AP then this game goes to the wire 'cos Vikings D is for real and are inches from creating a turnover. Actually I expect Vikings D to create a turnover in the second half, not because Favre will play badly but without a run game Packers are one dimensional.

Favre's gotta hit the slant to Driver & Jennings plus more success with screens to RBs - then Packers might get some positive runs.

Furthermore; get Ruvell Martin more involved - he can create a mismatch with their 4th DB guy.

COME ON PACKERS - LET'S ROLL. :pack:
