With all the bad news stories lately about football players (Exhibit One: Michael Vick), I thought it'd be good to put in a counterexample. The Browns' Braylon Edwards is putting up $1 million in college scholarship money for inner-city kids in Cleveland:

I worked in Cleveland for three years, and I can tell you that there's a lot of kids that can really use that kind of help there.

Another class act all the way

What's sad about the whole dealio is the fact that 1 million is only good enough for 100 people

You put it in a trust and it will send kids to college for basically ever, A million dollars still collects a bit of interest and if it is invested correctly in a low risk fund it will provide quite well.
