The Green Bay Packers haven't received any word from the NFL office on the status of Koren Robinson.

Coach Mike McCarthy said on Monday the team had not been notified of any change in Robinson's status.

The receiver is nearing the end of a one-year suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He began serving the suspension on Oct. 17, 2006, and was eligible to apply for reinstatement up to 60 days before the suspension's end.

The league confirmed last week Robinson's case was under review. Commissioner Roger Goodell has the final say on Robinson's reinstatement.

Greg Aiello, the NFL's senior vice president of public relations, wouldn't say when a decision will be reached.

"When a decision is made, we will let you know," Aiello said on Monday evening in an e-mail to the Press-Gazette. "That's as much as I can tell you now."

The Packers appear willing to take Robinson back. He signed a two-year contract with the Packers on Sept. 12, 2006, and although he was suspended without pay, the team owns his rights.

If Robinson is reinstated, the Packers likely will get a roster exemption that will allow him to practice for a set length of time but not count against the 53-man roster until he is activated. The Packers aren't scheduled to practice this week during their bye, so even if Robinson gets the commissioner's approval to return this week, he wouldn't see the practice field until Monday.

Team doctors likely will put Robinson through a series of medical tests in order to gauge the progress of his surgically repaired knee. Robinson was bothered by tendinitis during his four-game stint with the Packers before he was suspended and had surgery after his suspension. He has spent time in Green Bay, Raleigh, N.C., and Phoenix working out during his time away. He also has been undergoing treatment for alcohol abuse and served jail time for his traffic- and alcohol-related arrest in 2006.

FWIW, this guy says he's been notified he's being reinstated.

if this guy is telling the truth then thats great news, just can`t tell how reliable a source one claims himself to be. We`ll see. I think he will be reinstated anyways, he followed all rules as far as we know.
