YAY!! It's gameday! It's not televised in my area today, but I'll be keeping a close eye on the score...probably on the gamecenter. I'm getting ready to put my lucky underwear on....go to church....then back to watch some football! GO PACK GO!

Oh yeah...my prediction....Packers 24 Chiefs 14

Looking forward to the game, and hope Atari has overcome the jitters he was obviously displaying from being on the big stage last week.

ok smartass, lol. We've been doing the game day threads on the actual game day all season, haven't we?

Can you get games over there, Tarlam? If so, it must be nice because nooner start at prime time where you are from, right?

I subscribe to NFL.com's package for non USA, Canada and a few excluded countries.

It costs $ 199 for the regular season to see the game of my choice via a stream. I also receive NASN via cable, which shows the nationally televised games.

Today is the Tenessee game, the Colts/Pats, then the boys/iggles. MNF is also televised, but it starts at like 1:30 am! If the Pack plays I watch the last quarter, but since ywe moved to winter time last weekend, I had to get up at 3 or 4 am!!

The problem with the Bears game is that it was a prime time game. My body clock was just killing me! I hope we do a noon game next year...

Actually I keep taking their opponents......anyway, enjoy the game guys and gals...I'm off to watch the Vikings lose another close game and then hear Chilly talk about how close they are to being a good team. Also, watching Jackson fling the ball 5 yards over a wide open recievers head. When he had a healthy finger he had a 47 qb average, I can only imagine how bad the guy might be when he has a fratured finger on his throwing hard.

Sorry to jack the thread....do I sound bitter and defeated?

Nah, off I go to do my duty.

Eric Goska column: In 1989, Chiefs ran past Packers

The Packers of 1989 never met a deficit they felt was too large. Green Bay came from behind to win seven times, and it set an NFL record with four one-point wins.

Led by the "Majik Man," quarterback Don Majkowski, and six-shooting linebacker Tim Harris, the Packers went 10-6. Seized early by a never-say-die attitude, the team appeared headed to its first playoff berth in seven years.

Then, Christian Okoye barreled into town.

On Dec. 10, the Kansas City Chiefs repeatedly launched their 260-pound fullback into the heart of the Packers' defense. A native of Nigeria, Okoye set a record with a clock-draining 25 second-half rushes that kept Green Bay from rallying in a 21-3 Chiefs' win at Lambeau Field.

Okoye rushed 38 times for 131 yards and a touchdown. Tireless, determined and often gang tackled, he gained more than 8 yards only twice, on a pair of 12-yard runs in the second half.

Just the threat of Okoye helped quarterback Steve DeBerg to a great afternoon. The 12-year veteran completed 15 of 19 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns. His 146.3 passer rating far exceeded Majkowski's 39.2

De Berg compiled a perfect 158.3 passer rating in guiding the Chiefs to a 21-3 halftime lead. He tossed touchdown passes to Johnathan Hayes and Emile Harry. Okoye scored on a 3-yard run.

Down 18, Green Bay wasn't conceding. In the season's second week, it edged New Orleans 35-34 after trailing 21-0. A week later, it rallied from a 31-point hole before succumbing 41-38 to the Rams.

But in the second half against the Chiefs, the Packers did not cross midfield until less than 2 minutes remained. Kansas City ran the ball on 32 of its 40 second-half plays and controlled the clock for 22 minutes, 10 seconds.

Okoye gained 6, 6, 5, 3 and 4 yards to open the third quarter. He had the wind knocked out of him by linebacker Johnny Holland, but returned later in the drive and fumbled at the Packers' 13-yard line.

The Chiefs lost fumbles on two of their next four drives. Okoye then all but put the game out of reach as he rushed six times for 26 yards to set up a 34-yard field goal attempt that Nick Lowery sent wide right with 3:55 left.

After defensive back Lloyd Burruss intercepted Majkowski with 3:13 to go, Okoye charged into the line three more times before Green Bay mounted its final drive.

Okoye gained 100 yards rushing in the second half. His 25 attempts were the most by an individual in the second half against the Packers, breaking by two the record the Oilers' Earl Campbell set in 1980.

"Trying to bring him (Okoye) down is like trying to rip a house down with your bare hands," Packers linebacker Brian Noble said.

I think the Pack roll relativley easy in this game. The biggest concern is Tony Gonzalez, but Bigby will have a much better game this week and somewhat contains him. LT will get his yards but nothing huge. The Packers get 4+ sacks today and 2 INT's. Favre will spread the ball around a get 3 TD's. Pack roll 31-20 and get to 7-1.

Is BJ healthy? Is he playing today? They need to start him and give him 20 carries. I'm telling you guys, you'll see, this guy is good. He is our best chance at a running game. Grant had GIGANTIC holes to run through, Ahmad Green would have run for almost 200 yards last week. Grant is not the answer, he did the least an average back would do against a HORRIBLE running defense. I just rewatched the Denver game last night, and replayed over and over all his runs, and he should have had double the production he had. If Brandon Jackson was in there, we would have blown the Broncos out in that game.

at least I'm not the only one that sees that....I just have decided not to say it on here anymore, too much love for "Wynn I'm healthy I play". If we had the holes early in the year that we had last week, people would think a lot differently about Jackson for sure.

4and12to12and4
11-04-2007, 11:48 AM
BTW, for those who haven't realized this, Morency is useless. They need to get a 15th round pick  for him, because he goes down if someone looks at him. I can't stand him. Oh, and Grant got mauled while blocking last week too, he sucks, it sucks that our best two backs, Wynn and Jackson aren't healthy. They are the only legitamite backs we have. We need BJ to get his ass on the field for the rest of the year and develop some chemistry with the line (hopefully with Wells back in there), and we may have a force for the playoffs, otherwise, we are one and out if we make the playoffs. Is BJ playing today?

I still think a reliable RB - something fans have wanted for 2 years - is the achilles heal of this team.

McCarthy needs to make a lot of adjustments.

Colledge needs help on EVERY pass play. If pass protection can be shored up, Favre can beat the KC secondary with ease.

Bigby and Bush can never be allowed to cover the same part of the field ever again. I might never forgive Thompson for taking Harrell over Reggie Nelson.

Favre's play has been unacceptable. A horrible first down throw...a stupid late INT to give KC a chance. McCarthy is equally to blame on that last INT. After nearly giving KC the ball on a lateral, you take your medicine, run the ball, and punt it away. You don't try to make a 3rd and long against a team that has been in Favre's grill all day.
