From JSO:

"They're playing with confidence," said Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell, a Packer from 1997-2005. "The guys I still talk to, they love McCarthy. They really buy into his program.

"From the first time we played them (Sept. 30) until today, they definitely believe now that they should be 8-1. They're playing with confidence. They're playing really, really well."

Great.

Enjoy your post-game meal at some place that's not Applebee's.

Those are nice quotes but we have to remember they are coming from a kicker! :)

Wondering if:

Ryan Longwell is talking to Favre?

I do believe that buying into MM's system has in fact been a strong reason for our record, and that goes to the play of Favre as well.

It has to be obvious to most here that Favre is a better team guy than what we saw in 2004-05 and he is just simply having to execute and change it up as he see's developments in the oppositions defense.

Look at the play of KGB this season as well.Hasn't he impressed anyone but me? Not much talk on our forum RE: KJB, but he's been more solid for us in this season.

The fella I am really wondering about is Nick Collins.

Anyome want to make a comment on N. Collins??

PACKERS FOREVER !

Yeah, I love seeing a fresh KGB coming off the edge to annihilate QB's from the blindside. I just wish he'd start working on a strip move where he goes for the turnover and not just settle for the sack: KGB is so fast that once he ripped the pill away from the unsuspecting QB I doubt anyone would be able to catch him from behind. Besides, when a defender strips the QB on a passing play he is credited with a forced fumble and a sack.

Strangely enough, the Pack are forced to inject their rookie safety into the mix due to the injury of Collins and the defense completely shuts Adrian Peterson down enroute to their first shutout of the season. Coincidence? Maybe, but its always a good sign when you don't hear too much about the new guy. Maybe it was because the other 10 players were so diligent in keeping their assignments that he wasn't asked to do much, but at least we weren't watching receivers blaze by him all day because he was too busy staring in the backfield like Collins and Bigby love to do.

By the way, Bigby helped set the tone of the game on Minnesota's opening drive when he blasted AP on the 3rd and short run after Poppy had already slowed him up. It was beautiful, reminded me of the legendary Leroy Butler.

Longwell was on the field once to start the second half.

It is his only game of his career to not score a point.

That sounds like an indirect shot at Chilly. I know it's not supposed to be intelligent to judge a book by it's cover, but if you watch Chilly he just looks confused and in over his head.

I have a brother who plays a lot of poker. I went into the casino with him one night and played no limit hold'em at a $100 table. My brother won $600 in 15 minutes by doubleing up 3 or 4 times in 15 hands (he hit trips over and over). I sat there with eyes as wide as quarters scared shitless because people were betting more than I was ready to lose. The speed of the game is baffling. My bro still laughs his ass off because of how scared and out of my league I looked. He said the whole table perked up because they knew I was free money. He still gives me shit for that and I can't argue. I had no clue wtf I was doing.

Anyway, I look at Childeress's bewildered look on the sideline and his effort to try to hide behind his card and I smile because at my weakest of weak moments, I felt exactly how he looks on Sundays. It takes one to know one sometimes, so I think I know where Chilly is coming from and if I were the Vikings owner I'd probably fire him tomorrow.

There is a really nice one about 2 blocks or so from the Target Center downtown Minneapolis though.

Wondering if:Ryan Longwell is talking to Favre?[/b]

I would think so, they were great golf buddies and Longwell was with Favre when he found out about the death of his dad. I don't think there are any cold feelings between them.

I once held the door for Ryan Longwell's wife & baby while he was parking the car at a resturant.

The resturant?

Tony Roma's.

He sure knew how to pick where to eat. :P

Not that it's a big deal, but actually Doug Peterson was called by Deanna and he was the one who told Brett about his Dad.

I know Pederson was the one that told Brett, but wasn't Ryan golfing with Favre and Doug?

Longwell's gone. What he says and thinks is irrellevant.
