im not sure why i havent seen it yet but in the studs/dudes or winners/losers comments I have seen everyone say there is no loser..

I beg to differ..

John Ryan needs to get his ass in gear when tryin to trap a team inside the 20.. he has a very strong leg, but he has yet to improve in that department..

hell the majority of the time he doesnt give our team a chance to down it, it lands in the endzone.. he better fix this or we better be looking for another punter

i know picky, picky but these small things are whats gonna help us win the big games against good teams

He had one punt that should've been downed on the 2 and had a pissed off look on his face afterwards because the gunners weren't really giving it their all.

3 punts for a 50 average with a long of 66 (!) -- not terrible. Plus he had to punt in shallow opponent territory twice - tricky to pooch exactly 35-40 yards and risk a return.

I do agree, he can't continue to out kick the coverage team.

Ryan has been exceptional the last several games. I don't know about this game, but I know that the Larivee said the last pooch punt hit around the 10, so I'd say he did his job, but didn't get the lucky bounce or coverage on that. His holding has been exceptional also.

If the Packers go 14-1 or 13-2, with homefield advantage and a first round bye, do you sit Brett Favre in the final game?

Pacopete4

how can u sit him?.. he does have a pretty impressive streak going on that wouldnt be worth losing over resting a game... plus theres not a chance that guy wouldnt play

Favre also increased his touchdown total to 330 with three touchdowns against the Vikings.

430?

Eh, John Ryan has done a very good job this season at not out-kicking the coverage. Although I agree he needs to drop more inside the 10, he has done a 10000% better job this year then last. He has improved a lot since last season and he will only get better. We have a real punter, one that can boom em deep and one that is almost there with the touch. The only knock I have on him is that he still has that one or two games a season where he doesn't punt well. Again, he should improve on that as time goes.

I hate to say it but Childress looks like a RAT! And he was loser before the season started. I have an avid Viking fan in my office and the whole state of Minnesota wants him GONE!

I do not understand why still people claim Ryan is a bad punter.
He is 6th in net avg in the league. He also has just 7 Touchbacks and just 100 ReturnYards in 39 punts. All pretty good, at least for me.

It takes a while for young punters to get their footwork down for the pros to get the kick off faster, usually it takes a fella a couple of years to make it on a team and then stick, Ryan is only in his second year, he will get the hang of getting the ball inside the 10 yard line.

Besides, I think some people are still upset that BJ Sander is not our punter.

The punts that flew into the end zone sucked. If one is getting paid to kick the football a certain distance, and that some one has the physical ability, I expect it to happen. Ryan is not the BF of punters yet. Nor is he the Brady or Manning. I don't have a star QB I can compare him to. But I'd like some one to come up with that comparison.

Anyways, he punted like dog turd, and Crosby gave away 20 unnecessary yards, too.

The kickers both sucked, IMHO, and they should be listed as losers of the game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the first punt 65 yards and the second punt landed on the 10 but there were no coverage guys down there? If so, what's the problem? Pretty hard to land a 65 yard punt inside the 10. The second one sounded like it was the coverage unit and not Ryan's fault. That's what it sounded like from the radio. Is that true?

all i am sayin hes one of the worst punters at kicking the ball inside the 20.. stats prove it.. he NEEDS to improve this area for our team to be successful in the post season because some if not all the games come down to field position

Yeah - that's what I recalled. And as I wrote above, he had a very pissed off look, "like, come on guys"...

The kid's improving. This year, he has stopped hitting those liners. He was last in the league last season in ave yds per return. this year he's doing a lot better.

Though he finished ninth in the NFL with a 44.5-yard gross average last season, Ryan ranked 27th with a 35.7 net average. Through nine games this season, Ryan is 12th in gross average (45.5) and sixth in net (39.4).

Ryan had just four touchbacks before his three in Sunday's rout.

It's nice to see Hawk on the winners list. I thought that open field tackle on Ferguson was impressive. It's always hard for a LB to get his hands on a WR or RB in the open field. The offensive player has a huge advantage.

FINALLY saw the game today. Wow - impressive outing for sure.

Grant's running was great. Yes, the OL was doing its job, but he was running for daylight. Noticed a few really nice blocks by WR's on his runs to the outside, JJ threw a nice one.

Anouncers were HORRIBLE. And had some odd pronunciation - Brady Po-ping-ga, as in ping pong. They also described some plays badly/incorrectly. On the screen pass to Morency early in the game, they said 'Favre sees a pass rush'. Duh, it's a screen.

Favre looked a little off early - 3 or 4 misses. If I'd been watching it live, I'd have been worried.

That 3 man rush by the Vikins was assinine. What were they thinking. A couple of plays you had a guard just standing there looking for someone to hit.

Have to agree with that Crosby didn't have a great outing. What happened to the automatic touchback on KO's we were supposed to be seeing? He booted his first few to the 10 yd line.
