Packers will face Testaverde or Carr; I can't imagine anything but a win here.

we will win but play down to competition a bit (at least offensively) and get conservative way too early and run the ball on every 1st and 2nd down that we can.

(im putting that here in case M3 reads PR and decides to prove me wrong   )

so... im saying 24-10 when, really, we played like it was 40-0[/b]

Some former Packers coming back to GB....

The Panthers Defense still scares me....that line has some bookends that can play. We all know how good Manuel is....

Since they switched to the ZBS and are struggling with it and they basically only have Steve Smith to contend with:

Packers 31, Panthers 12

If this game resembles anything like the Vikings game and Favre is still in the game starting the 4th quarter, McCarthy needs a talking to. Rodgers needs the snaps in a situation where he is not under pressure to do anything but manage the game. I didn't like what I saw on his second completion, he looked right, then threw the dump off right away. Either that was a designed play which is questionable since we don't normally run that or he didn't read the defense right. Either way, it wasn't enough to form an opinion on him other then he can hand the ball off.

Why would anyone form an opinion based on 2 snaps of mop up duty in a blowout?

Panthers have talent on defense, but the word is Peppers is just going through the motions. Still, Packers probably let down a little after big win and right before Detroit.

Well, the weather forecast say 44 degrees, mostly sunny. That's 15 degrees colder than in Carolina. Maybe that helps. Especially if it doesn't rain. Favre struggled with the long pass in the rain against WAS.

If the kids buy into the focus that M3 is preaching, we should do well. I am not overly sold on either CAR QB, but that defense is scary. Also, with Kris calling out the team, they may rise to the occasion.

I just hope we get enough points up in the first 3 quarters to give the old guys (Favre, Woodson, Harris) a quarter off. But I suspect this will be won in the 4th quarter again.

I say the Pack by a TD in the 4th.

Plus, Steve Smith looks like he won't play. Who the hell is going to pick up his slack? I'd take even Jarrett Bush against their next top receiver, hell, why don't we just rest Harris?

GB 30 Car 6Becuase that is what Merlin does. He is very desperate to find anything to feed his belief that "TT sucks". Also, since he is so convinced that Aaron Rodgers is a bust, any little thinig about Rodgers he can find that isn't perfect is used to justify that position. Just ignore Merlin(unless you like good comedy) as he is the resident tool here.

They do seem to perform better on the road with a 4-1 record. Their loss at TN was with David Carr at the helm. He's not good; holds the ball too long and TN's defense is good. Vinny is smarter and more skilled than that. If Steve Smith is out or severely hobbled, that will really cripple their passing game, so Green Bay will probably stack them in the box to stop the rushing game. That loss at home last week to ATL was somewhat demoralizing, and that coming on the heels of Kris Jenkins earlier sounding off about the team having no heart. That said, don't sleep on a team with a 4-1 road record, albeit against teams that were struggling...they're still NFL teams.

McCarthy has his troops ready to go again.

Of course, they beat St. Louis, Atlanta, Arizona, and New Orleans (when they were playing lousy). Anything can happen in the NFL, but I feel pretty good about this game.

This might be one of the games the Pack loses, just because Notre Dame actually won a game. When ND won their first game of the season, the Pack lost the next day to the bears. Every other game ND has lost, Green Bay has won the following Sunday. That being said..
