The Oregon Ducks football team is playing tonight on ESPN against the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson, AZ.

The Ducks are currently ranked #2 in the nation. Though Arizona is not ranked, Mike Stoops' teams have a history of upsetting ranked teams at home in November. Their strength is their defense.

Game time is 6:00 PST

What happened to Dixon?

From ESPN.com
Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon, a Heisman Trophy front-runner who has guided the Ducks to an 8-1 record and a No. 2 BCS ranking, twisted his left knee Thursday and left in the first quarter against host Arizona.

ESPN's Erin Andrews reported from the sideline that Dixon, a big threat on the ground who also rates fourth in the nation in passing, would not return, a big blow for a team averaging almost 43 points and 511 yards a game.

Dixon's left knee appeared to buckle as he tried to plant on an option carry with about five minutes to go in the quarter.

Dixon sprained the same knee against Arizona State on Nov. 3. He wore a brace Thursday night.

Dixon had a 39-yard touchdown run on the Ducks' first possession. He was 5-of-8 for 62 yards and threw an interception in the end zone.

Senior Brady Leaf replaced Dixon.
________

That stinks about his knee. He is such a threat to run and he throws well.

What happened to Dixon?

While on a scramble, his knee gave out. Dixon had "Tweaked" it during the last game.

He is out for the rest of the game, possibly out for the season.

After Dixon went out, the Ducks offense went stagnant. The enthusiasm of the entire team was entirely deflated.

Score at halftime is 31-14, Arizona. For all practical purposes, the game is over. :(

I heard this was a trap game, but man didn't expect this. Would have to think KU would benefit the most if Oregon lost tonight. IF KU wins out, they'd be in. If not, Oklahoma would be next up.

What a mixed up year this has been in college football. It's great to watch, but nothing is secure anymore!

Man, I was rooting for the Ducks all year long :(

Injuries have really destroyed that team this season. It's a shame!

I still question that fumble on the fake punt. Looked like his shoulder was down. Hell of an open field tackle by Cason. He looks to be a player.

Man, I was rooting for the Ducks all year long :(

Injuries have really destroyed that team this season. It's a shame!

Here are a list of the injuries prior to today's game:

1. WR Brian Paysinger(knee) out for season--might be back for a Bowl game

2. WR Cameron Colvin(knee-torn ACL) out for season

3. Second string tailback--Jeremiah Johnson(torn ACL out for season

4. OLB A. J. Tuitele--foot fracture, might be back for last game of season

5. MLB John Bacon- torn ACL out for season

This game

Dennis Dixon QB and Heiseman Candidate--out for game, maybe out for season.

Tailback Jonathan Stewart--out late in 4th quarter--leg injury--future status uncertain.

Except for Johnson, all of these guys were starters. Though Johnson was not a starter, he was usually in for 20-25 plays per game.

The injuries have been absolutely DEVASTATING!

I interupted my beauty nap to catch the second half - what a mistake. A horrible game. So many long timeouts for replays. Nothing on offense from either team.

Brady Leaf looked horrible. Arizona did nothing to win that game, but Oregon didn't either.

If you saw the first quarter before Dixon was injured, Oregon moved the ball at ease averagin over 9 yards a play. After Dixon went down, the Ducks averaged only 3 yards a play. Dixon was the heart and soul of the team.

Initial reports this morning state he is out for remainder of the season, including any Bowl game the Ducks might enter.
