while we're at it, here are the top 2nd year wideouts thus far this year. A big dropoff after #4. How could ANYONE have missed Marques Colston? He's a beast. Also, it shows why there was only one wideout picked in the 1st round in 2006 :

Here's the top Tight Ends. A very impressive group. Note Jason Witten's stats, with 11 games though.

Where's Vernon Davis? What a bust...

Interesting to note that last year we had this big debate on how many yards Jennings would get, and good ole Patler brought up the facts showing it's pretty rare for a rookie to exceed 700yds and almost unheard of to get 1,000 yards in his first year.

At the pace Jones is going at he should end up with 800-850. Very Unlikely he hits 1,000 yards but it is possible.

The top 4 are heads above the rest now

It won't surprise me if Santanio Holmes turns out to be the best of the bunch.

Jennings on pace for around 900 yards right now, and Jones around 800.

I think Jackson just came back from another injury

The way Brett spreads it around, it's going to be tough to rack up huge yards. But I love watching him catch the ball. I think Jones is better than his stats.

It won't surprise me if Santanio Holmes turns out to be the best of the bunch. What's so special about him?? Jennings has nearly the same yardage on the same # of catches but is up 2 TDs. Then throw in the fact that Favre spreads the ball around so much compared to Homes who likely gets a large percentage of Big Ben's throws.

I also dont recall highlights of Holmes putting daggers in opponents like Jennings has done in the last month.

Give me Greg "put a fork in em" Jennings anyday.

Thank you TT for passing on Chad Jackson and taking the unknown Jennings... :worship:

Even though I was extremely angry for the next couple of months, i'm glad I was proved wrong...

Jennings' and Jones' rankings are especially impressive since they are not Packers' prime receivers. I'll put our first three...no, first four...no, first five receivers up against any other teams' in the league.

What a difference a few months makes compared to the time we were thinking our receiving corps was thin.

Yeah, I feel ya. Made the same mistake.

I also thought Vernon Davis was a HOF lock.

I was in my "Combine" phase. Those drill are meaningless.

James Jones has been unreal this year..What a great pick he was.

Bears game still sticks in my mind though

He did get that fixed though. I think all the Packers have done a fine job protecting the ball since then.

He lost a ball out of bounds on Thursday. At this point I think he catches it better than he hangs on to it. But I'm thrilled with his play overall. He hauls in passes that many WR's can't catch.
