They are going to light us up without Woodson, Collins, Jolly, KGB, and maybe Rouse.

Same. Having Woodson out significantly lowers our chances of winning..KGB too, but Woodson moreso..I just hope Woodson can tough it out and play. I don't want Jarrett Bush starting.

I think KGB hurts more. AGainst Dallas, I think you want one shut down corner and a pass rush to stop Romo/TO.

Normally, Woodson would be more important, but for this game, against the bigger slower Oline, I think KGB would have reaked havok and turned the game in the Packers direction.

KGB has been very healthy. Maybe he has one of those Reggie type miracle come backs and he plays. I think what he brings off the edge is exactly what Dallas does not want to face.

Woodson will help, but if Romo has time he'll just find antoher open guy (most likely witten or TO)

I thought KGB had a slight sprain and the held him out cause they could...?

What I heard is that he injured both his knee and his ankle and McCarthy was waiting on MRI results. That's the last thing I heard.

Sorry, fellow PackerRats. I just think the Cowboys are too well balanced on offense with both a great passing and a great running game.

In addition, historically, Favre has not played well at Dallas. He seems to get too emotionally pumped up and makes poor decisions.

As McCarthy alluded to in a press conference this week, everyone needs to look at the "Big picture" when evaluating the importance of this game. Should the Packers lose, they are still have a remarkable 10-2 record. What counts is staying healthy and having momentum going into the playoffs.

I'm kinda done with the "he doesn't play well here (Denver, KC) or he has a tough time with this team/game (Chargers or Lions on Tgiving). Seems to me history's being rewritten and all the teams we've panicked about have fallen against us. And for the record, if KGB is out, I bet Jenkins gets 2 sacks...

Good points. We haven't seen a season quite like this one in a long time. And it's not like Jenkins lacks an ability to rush the passer.

You gotta be totally fired up. I think this kind of success wasn't predicted by anyone. That's gotta make it that much better as a fan.

Good point, Ziggy.

There are some things that could happen, but for us to make up for what we've lost it's going to be a matter of guys doing things that they have not done to this point.

Jenkins hasn't gotten pressure
Williams has not stuffed the run
The Packers have been a stout 4th quarter team because of the QUALILTY depth. (I'm not so sure that Montgomery, Hunter and Harrell are quality depth like Jolly and KGB were).

I'm all about having hope in the off season when young guys are expected to come into their own. I'm not big on expecting patterns to completely change on a dime agains the 2nd or 3rd best team in the league. It's a little too hopefull for me. Too man suprises would have to happen for this team to slow the Cowboys.

A perfect game by Brett. A good game by Grant, winning the turn over battle and kick ass special teams is the only hope I have. Our knicked up defense really worries me going into this game. The Packers can win, but they have to have their best game. The Cowboys just have to not screw up. Throw KGB, Woodson and Jolly in and Romo/Barber have a really long day trying to keep score with the Packers offense while also overcoming the Packers superior special teams.

JH, you gotta settle down. You're freaking Bretsky out. Here's your list:

Brett has to play perfect. The roll he's on is as perfect as you're gonna get...
Grant has a good game. And the last few games have been what???
Winning the turnover battle. We've BEEN winning the turnover battle, and the last one was gotten by the rookie who went in for Woodson, remember?
The Cowboys don't have to "just not screw up." They have to play well. And nobody has said yet that KGB and Woodson aren't playing. Too soon to go Chicken Little on me. Besides, even if they have to change course on a dime, I've never seen a team more ready to do it. M3 has this team completely believing in themselves. They've given me no reason to do otherwise.

Excellent post, Ziggy.

Additionally, JH, the underlying strategy of the season so far has been "find a way, ANYAWY, to win". They have done exactly that. If it weren't for ST's, we'd have lost the opener. The defence won us #2. The offence #3 etc etc.

Only in the last 2 games have we shown relative balance. Only against the Bears 2nd half and the Skins 1st half, did we look out our comfort zone. And even then, we were always in it.

The thing about this team is, it knows how to execute custom made game plans and it demonstrates a healthy learning culture. In any organization, business or sports or even family, those two abilities go a long way to providing success.

For the reason I have posted here, I predict a win by a field goal in a nail biter.

I hope so!

Packers are hit hard with injuries for this game. I think Packers can learn, win or lose, from this game; as it will be difficult to put pressure on Romo the whole game. Lastly, it's in Texas!

I won't predict the score, because I either jinx them or look like a defeatist.

If Green Bay does pull off a win next Thursday, it will be the REAL turnaround under McCarthy and Thompson.

Having home field advantage in the playoffs would be huge..

It's going to be very tough to beat Dallas at home, now or in the playoffs.

Their defense though is not as fierce as the Jimmy Johnson defenses, nor do they have Emmit Smith. Tony Romo, Terrell Owens and Jason Whitten are close to Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Jay Novacek.

Pack 38
Boys 28

I HAVE to pick against the Packers. They are 10-1 in games where I predict a loss.

Seriously, every time I have seen the Packers play in person, they have lost. Everytime I have predicted a win, they have lost. I'm just not good luck. I swear (promise?) I will never make a PackerRats game because I know they would loose.

Boys 34
Packers 23

This time though, I think the prediction is right. I hesitated to not give the Boys more points and the Packers less. I'm afraid the defensive injuries are going to allow the Cowboys to control the clock, put up lots of points and keep Favre off the field until its too late. Hope that doesn't translate into Favre throwing multiple picks.

I would so love to be wrong!!!

They are playing well, but so are the Pack. They almost lost to Buffalo, albeit on the road. Minnesota played them tough in Dallas (until Longwell's blocked field goal/td), as did Washington, who really had a chance to win. If the Pack gets the QB play from Brett they've been getting and can pressure Romo and not give up big plays, the Pack have a good chance to win. You gotta like the way this coaching staff prepares the team, and the confidence they are playing with.
