How many clutch kicks in big games did each one make?

Close enough that neither would have a gripe. Actually, I'm surprised somebody else didn't have a better year than that. 19 FGs isn't many FGs. Does that kicker even have 100 points scored on the year? Not unless they are the New England kicker.

Another point: does one of the kickers kick indoors and the other outdoors? That makes a big difference.

Don't know. I have not seen either one kick that much.

Kicker 1 is Folk, as I said he made the Pro Bowl, and has 100 points. Kicker 2 is very close to 100 points, probably will have it this week.

Not many kickers make it to the Pro Bowl with just 19 FGs. As far as Folk, there were a few kickers that should have made it over him. Dallas got a few undeserving Pro Bowl nods.

Neither one should have been..Too many Cowboys AND too many Vikings already.

I think the selection of Folk is ridiculous. A rookie should have to have a clearly superior performance to be selected over similar players who have proven themselves over the years. Folk only has 22 fieldgoals, and 14 were less than 40 yards. "Kicker 2" only has 19, but his are more long range, and his kickoff performance is better.

No, kicker 2 should not have been selected instead...Too many Vikings made the pro bowl as it is :P

...and there clearly is a shortage of Cowboys!

Robbie Gould kicks in Soldier Field and he made 28 of 33 FGs, and around half his attempts were 40 yards or longer. That's way more impressive than Folk.

Completely agree; Gould should have made the Pro Bowl

Yup, I agree on Gould, too. I started this thread just to see how people would compare Folk to Longwell. I can't say Folk was any better, at all.

All in all, Mason Crosby compares well, too. He has attempted more 40+ kicks than anyone in the NFC, and a lot more than most of them. He has 19 attempts at 40+ and most are actually 45+. The next closest to Crosby is 15 attempts at 40+. Folk has 11 attempts at 40+. Under 40 yards Crosby is 17/18, Folk is 14/15. Crosby's percentage suffers because he has attempted so many long kicks

I do think Crosby is a better kicker than Folk; but neither should have made the Pro Bowl.

I think Longwell is more deserving than Folk as well

The selection of Folk is just plain baffling to me.

He is a middle of the pack kicker on kickoffs.
There are kickers with more fieldgoals, higher percentages and both combined. He hasn't put on a long range show, most of his kicks are very high percentage kicks. He hasn't decided a bunch of games. He really has done nothing impressive at all.

I remember reading something like that before the draft..Apparently that was the case while he was at Colorado as well..Although the ones at Colorado were pretty unrealistic, like 59 yards or something like that..

Longwell missed a PAT...no probowl. The hold wasn't that bad...just kick through it as Morten Andersen would've.

Gould should've been going to Hawaii.

I would agree that Gould deserves a "degree of difficulty" bonus (like what divers or figures skaters get) for kicking outside in Chicago compared to kicking indoors or in a relatively warm climate outdoors.

When voting for the Pro Bowl vote early and often for Packer players.

The way Packer fans vote for everything else you would think they would vote for the Pro Bowl.

Right now Crosby is not known that well. A long kick late in a game will get him known.

Let's hope he does well in the Super Bowl.

Packer fans did vote for the Pro Bowl. Our guys did very well in fan voting. That only counts for 1/3 of the vote though.
