Awesome vids in that lot. What a season so far! And to think, this time last year we were 6-8 and what we thought was no shot at the playoffs.

Here we are, 52 weeks later and we have a first round bye at very worst.

Thank you TT, M3 all players and staff. You are all amazing.

I don't see how the Bears can win IF the Packers hold on to the ball today. I'm sure that's been beaten into the Packers' head given the weather and the results of the last meeting between these two teams.

I think Ryan Grant will have a great opportunity to have a big day today. It'd be nice to have a bruiser come in to spell him, because that's the type of runner that can be most effective against the Bears and in the type of weather that's predicted for this game.

Weather Report for Chicago today: Cloudy with rain and snow this morning. A snow shower or two in the afternoon - otherwise mostly cloudy and windy. Morning high of 34F with temps falling to near 20F. Winds WSW at 25 - 35 mph. Winds could occassionally gust to over 50 mph.

I'd say this plays into our game better than the Bears game.

We have the stronger armed QB, the better short passing attack, and the stronger running attack.

While Orton has a good arm, their passing game is very average (14th) and their running game is the worst in the league.

I'm assuming that McCarthy will keep Pickett on the sidelines this week as a precaution if nothing else. That should give us all a great opportunity to get a good look at Harrell. Here's hoping he holds up well in the trenches.

Nice post Vince. I pretty much agree with your points. Last week Chicago sold out against the run and was pretty effective...I don't think they can do that this week without getting destroyed.

Here in WI we have 40 mph winds and wind driven snow. Holding on to the ball will be key today along with being able to run the ball. I'd be surprised to see a blowout strictly based on the weather conditions. Pack 20 Bears 13

It is suppose to snow in Chicago today. In Mercer, we are expecting close to 2 feet once the lake effect machine kicks in.

I just checked weather.com. They say it's snowing and as gusty as the winds are right now in Greebay (I know, I'm looking outside right now), they are worse in chicago.

I agree with bulldog. It's going to be low scoring with turnovers being the only real key to the game.

tmj IS REPORTING 50 MPH GUSTS IN cHICAGO, RAIN/SNOW AND THE FIELD IS IN TERRIBLE CONDITION

RashanGary
12-23-2007, 09:08 AM
Our field will get browner, but it will always play well because it's heated and has a sand base (so it will drain no matter what).

Chicago still has a clay based 100% natural grass. It plays like shit in wet weather.

And yes, the winds are horrific. It helps to have a QB with a GREAT arm, but it's still going to be a low scoring game. I see this hurting Hester too. If he can't cut, what good is he?

Yeah, I saw their injury report during the week. It was like someone made a list of all of their best players (except for old arthritic back girlacker) and called it their injury report. I sort of chuckled. Hopefully that is how Dallas's looks in a couple weeks :)

This means it's going to be Ryan "General" Grant vs. Adrian "The Fake" Peterson

I like our chances!

Sadly, we HOPEFULLY won, 't see any balls air mailed down field today, but I don't think our short passing game will suffer terribly.

Should be a fun, blizzard game. Hopefully, after the 'Boys lose next week, this will be a preview of coming to Lambeau Field North during the playoffs. I want this and the next game to be statement games. "You don't mess with us in our climate."

What bad weather does, IMO, is creates more opportunity for turnovers and an opportunistic defense. In ideal conditions I think GB pummels the Bears.

Bad weather gives them a shot. They need turnoivers to win this game.

Competely agree on Harrell. I want to be proven wrong more than anybody out there

RashanGary
12-23-2007, 10:07 AM
Harrell is a good year away. It's too bad we lost Jolly because he, Williams and Pickett made up a strong rotation.

If we find a way to keep Williams next year, I think Pickett, Jolly, Harrell and Williams will be in the top 3 for DT rotations. Right now we're average with Jolly down and Harrell undeveloped.

b bulldog
12-23-2007, 10:14 AM
I agree Nick but I hope they spend the money $6.7ish, in the secondary, not the DL. I think if we have Jolley, Cole, Pickett, Muir and Harrell we should be fine inside. I'd rather throw the money in the secondary and at our corners unless they really believe in what we have behind Harris/Woodson. I don't see Williams being worth $5mil per season, sorry.

Ahhh GAMEDAY!! Can't ya just smell the whoop ass in the air!!

You guys worried about the weather? Let me ask you this: how much experience does their boy Orton have playing mudball (I love mudball). How's his arm strength to cut through that wind. Right. They have Adrian "the other one" Peterson. Maybe if it were the real AP...

As I stated in the T.O news thread... T.O. is out next week against the Redskins... There is a really good chance the Redskins could pull off an upset...

Remember the last game between the two earlier in the season...

28-23 Dallas won...

T.O's STATS: 8 rec 173 yards 4 TDS...

Without this factor, the packers should play everyone today and see how next week pans out...

As per NFL.com

Green Bay Packers
Inactives: QB Aaron Rodgers (3rd QB), WR Shaun Bodiford, CB Jarrett Bush, FB Korey Hall, G Allen Barbre, DT Ryan Pickett, TE Ryan Krause, DT Conrad Boston.

Fantasy take: TE Bubba Franks is active, but TE Donald Lee will continue to start. The Packers' defensive backfield is at close to full strength.

Welcome back Bubba.

Chicago Bears
Inactives: QB Rex Grossman (3rd QB), CB Nathan Vasher, SAF Josh Gattis, LB Lance Briggs, G Josh Beekman, WR Mike Haas, DE Mark Anderson, NT Darwin Walker.

Fantasy take: QB Kyle Orton will start for the second consecutive week. The Bears defense will be without Briggs and Vasher, so this unit will be more vulnerable against Green Bay.

Ya, you're right. But I think the best teams win down the stretch when they have something to play for. If I were coach, I would make all decisions predicated on the Packers having to go through Dallas. And that means not playing injured guys like Pickett. IF things work-out better for Packers, no problem.

If Pickett is out Harrell needs to step his game up and play like a starter

When Pickett is back our DL is solid with Pickett, Williams, Jenkins, and Kampman. KGB as a pass rusher.

The worry is if Harrell does not pick up his play these guys will end up playing too much and get winded and then it might be a weakness
