Week 16 PFW Players of the Week
Dec. 24, 2007
Offense
RB Najeh Davenport
Pittsburgh Steelers
If the Steelers are going to go far, they likely will need some big performances from Davenport, who is replacing the injured Willie Parker. In the Steelers’ 41-27 win over the Rams, Davenport tallied 167 yards (including 123 rushing) and two TDs.
Defense
LB Patrick Willis
San Francisco 49ers
Willis probably wrapped up Defensive Rookie of the Year honors around Week Six, so his Sunday statistical masterpiece is mere icing on the cake. He totaled 20 tackles, two sacks, one pass defended and one forced fumble, helping hold the Bucs to 2.8 yards per rush.
Special teams
CB Charles Tillman
Chicago Bears
Taking advantage of the swirling winds of Soldier Field and the shaky hands of Packers P Jon Ryan, Tillman flew around the edge and swatted Ryan’s third-quarter punt that was run back for a touchdown by teammate Corey Graham in the Bears’ blowout win.
