Since moving to Oregon, I have had difficulty accepting Christmas without snow. Here in the Willamette Valley area of western Oregon, the weather is usually to wet and balmy to snow on Christmas. The weatherman stated that snow on Christmas happens only 4% of the time or once every 25 years. My wife has had to endure my lament for snow almost every Christmas.

We actually had SNOW on Christmas Day today!!! Around mid-morning, we had big flakes and about an inch of accumulation!

Of the 17 years I have been here in Oregon we NEVER have had snow on Christmas today. It was like Divine Intervention occurred to see the big flakes falling in abundance.

I hitched up the 11 year old dog to the leash and went for a long walk in the falling snow. The nostalgia was very gratifying.

By mid-afternoon, virtually all of the snow had melted away but I did get my White Christmas in Oregon! :)
