Anyone know why the Packers have not worn any sort of throwback uniform this year? :?:

Probably because the current uniform is a classic, and the throwbacks were ugly as hell IMHO.

Patler must've created that.

And a hearty Heck yes to the posters above...no need for throwbacks...they look like throw-ups.

I thought I heard on tv while watching a game that the Packers had decided not to use throwbacks because it was just another way to gouge the fans and they didn't think it necessary. They said that's also why the Packers don't use the ones with the C on the chest or the optional third uniform shirt.

Sounds like a decision the Packers would make...but I do wish I could remember who said it.

Don't know why, but I love that 1994 blue and yellow throwback. Different color pants, and that'd be a sick jersey.

Were they to go real throwback, I'd like to see "Acme Packers" on their chest, as a wink to their roots.

We'd have to have names and numbers on the back, but there have been throwbacks without chest numbers.

Bah! The only good throwback was Reggie White's "throwback" of Amp Lee.

I'd like new road uniforms. Our home uniforms are the best in the NFL.

I don't know, Scott. I don't like the all-white look - white pants and top - and I actually like their road look. The yellow is strong enough to set off the white.

I have to admit that Wolf's idea was kinda sharp. But I just don't want to see the Pack change the unis they have. I love them and those colors.

I think the Packers should wear throwbacks from 1996. All they would have to do is put all the stripes back on the sleeves.

No. I tried on a home jersey and Ziggy almost threw up.

I did not. You just looked better in white. Besides, you of all people gotta support Brett on the road.

I think largely the reason the NFL allows teams to wear throwback unis a certain number of games per year (when otherwise the uniform code is fairly tight), is that they hope to be able to entice people into buying a third jersey to go with their home and away jerseys. Initially, the throwback thing was started (IIRC) as part of the 75th anniversary of the league, but the reason it's still going is jersey sales.

I think largely the reason the Packers haven't continued to go with the throwbacks are either they don't really want to resort to such tricks to take the money of their loyal fans, or alternatively they realize that their throwback uniforms are kind of ugly and they don't sell well so it's not really worth the expense and the hassle.

"Why aren't we wearing the throwback uniforms" is only really worth asking if your team has cool throwback uniforms.
