Arliss Beach signed last week. I think for the practice squad.

Is Houston even going to make the playoffs? If the practice squad players become free agents at the end of the year, why would they do this?

The practice squad guys are always effectively free agents.

If Arliss Beach has some college eligibility left, he could find playing time at Texas A&M.

No, I mean why bother signing him if they're not even gonna use him? I could see adding someone to the 53, but to the practice squad?

Right now, I believe they have only 2 RBs on their 53 man squad; Ron Dayne and Darius Walker. Beach was the only RB on their practice squad and likely was signed as insurance against yet another injury this week. You might even see Beach signed to the active roster before the game.

A cheap tryout see if he could make the team.
