I don't think Giles fits at all what we want in an OG for the zone blocking scheme. He's a big road grader type. I'd rather get Davin Joseph in round 2.

I'd take that in a heartbeat. I actually agree with how he sees the first 11 picks going down....so it's probably all messed up

Even I must say that if we land Hawk,Hali and Gille, this draft would be a smashing success. Hali is a better player than his workout numbers indicate. If you don't think so, ask the Big Ten tackles.

Gabe Watson in round two would be hard to pass on. He along with Pickett could really hold down the middle. Looking at the second rounders shows how deep this draft really is.

Ryans would be hard to pass on also. This is one of the reasons why I hope they don't take Hawk at 5. Look at all the very good LB's that we could take in round two but Hali or Watson or Pope would be great fits in GB. We neded to trade down and hopefully pick up a high 2. If we could stay in the top 8 and have 2 second rounders, we need to do it. Huff,Davis or Hawk would be there at 8.

I agree. I'd still love to get Carpenter there if he falls.........and if TT trades down in round 2 I hope it isnt' too far.

I remember watching the talent dry up like crazy picks before us last year. We were two frickin picks away from Odell Thurman. Even more profanities shot from my mouth, and I didn't think I had any left after hearing Aaron Rodgers called.

But yeah, if we get those 3 to start with, i won't complain for sure. i still think we could be seeing all of our picks being traded down. but i think Kiper has the right 'idea' for GB with who he has them taking.

1) Doesn't Tamba Hali's measurables and style of play (speed/edge rusher) remind you a little of Jamal Reynolds (also 6'3", tho about 15 lbs lighter).
2) Jean-Gilles: I thought with the zone blocking scheme that getting to the second level was important.
3) Martin: Sounds too much like Joey Thomas. Same conference too? (WAC?)

Now that I've cast a ray of sunshine into the picture, I hope if we get these guys that I have to eat my words. Without benefit of ketchup.

I have a friend that lives in Milwaukee and he's heped Big Time on Tamba Hali. I began to follow his games some (stat's) and noticed his stock rise and then slip of late. I would think he's excellent second round value. I am guessing he'll be gone before we pick in the second.

One never knows how their College game translates to the NFL. I would have thought, that with all his achievements in College that Jamal Reynolds would have turned out fine for us. . . but . . . too bad! One of the Great mysteries in Packer Life.

all of the DE's after Mario are kind of questionable. the BC guy had high ratings then got his butt kicked all week at the senior bowl....i personally LOVE Elvis dummervile...BUT he's way to small and should probably play OLB.

One could argue Mario has a lot of questions too; all the athletic ability in the world but not too consistent for a guy being talked about as a top 5 pick

If you've seen any of my battles on JS, then you know my thoughts on Mario vs. AJ. But, Mario is a athletic freak, not going to take that away from him. I just think he has a caution flag on him cause of his inconsistancy at the college level.

I would have the messiest bowl movement in my shorts if that is how the draft went. Mother of god is this draft deep.

I take that back. It's a crap shoot.

He's fallen 25 spots of late on Draft Countdown and sits at #40.Yet he's sitting at #27 on the - GREAT BLUE NORTH 'BIG BOARD' .

it sucks, but if there was ever a year to take a dive, it was this year for this draft. sadly, i think i remember telling my buddy, "now if we have a crap year next year and are in position to get Leinart, i might cry"....so...i'll get the tissues...BUT, i do like A-Rod..i think with some coaching and time he can be ok.

I really want one of those top CB's in the second round. There are more 1st round CB's this year than in recent memory. I hope one slips.

I agree. This draft is pretty good at corner, and I'd love to get one--if we don't pick up a veteran.

Most of the updated rankings don't have Hali as the second rated DE, so you have to be careful with what boards you are going off of. I actually have huge concerns with Hali. The dude is as small as Jamal Reynolds and he's slower. Remember that Reynolds had something like 17 sacks during his senior year in college. To me, the biggest mistakes in the draft are undersized, pass rushing DEs that kicked ass in college. It seldom translates. I think I'd rather get Mark Anderson.
