I received news today that a good friend of mine lost their child after 40 hours of labor... stillborn...I don't know why the hell I feel the need to share that on a Packer message board but sharing it I am. Can't sleep... can't imagine the gravity of loss... can't really call anyone at 11:25pm so I'm blowing off steam here... perspective.. it truly puts things in perspective...
Much appreciated Miss Ziggy! Mike says normally a "C" section or some sort of action would be taken after 20 hours or so of labor so I am not sure what went wrong and the timing wasn't right to ask or question. I have never had a child myself. I can only imagine the loss they are feeling.
I am sorry to hear your sad news, EZ. The emotional consequences of losing a child under any circumstances are difficult. The particular problem with stillbirth is that the grieving process can remain undelivered as well; the normal stages of acceptance and healing can be short-circuited. I know you and your friendship will be an important part of the healing process for this couple.
The stunner in our neighborhood is that a former student from my school, a senior, was walking to school yesterday with head down, hood up, earphones in, and then stepped into the roadway to cross the last street before heading into the doorway of his school. Normally a motorist would see this careless young person and brake. In this case, the driver of a city leaf-sucker was distracted as well and, due to the extremely loud equipment, never saw, felt, or heard the young man as his truck dragged the boy for many yards to his death. We have many questions and few answers as to how it could have happened, but the scene was horrific and his classmates from a tightly knit school for troubled young people have yet another traumatic episode to process.
I have just run into the east coast version of Harlan Huckleby on a dating website.
Why do cars always seem to need repairs in December when it's cold and you have no money?
True Christmas spirit.

Trying to switch my dog over to elderly dog food and she is NOT buying it! She would rather go through the house eating anything semi-eatable rather than eat the dog food........yes, to include used tissues from the bathroom wastebasket!!! grr!!
Start by just mixing a tiny bit of the new food into the old food, like 5-10% then gradually increase. She won't notice the difference.
"Cavalia" is coming back to Seattle! I have a privileged small part of history with this show as it pertains to their first run here and how we fed and feted their guests. This was an account to remember, and remember it I do! Feather in my cap this account was. ***sigh*** I am so glad to see it back!

Anyone who has the opportunity of seeing this brilliant production should do so.
Cirque du Soleil only with horses? I dunno. It doesn't really provide the violent reality that I so love about the Packers!
