Not only did Barclay give up the hit that resulted in a safety/injury to Rodgers, he gave up the hit that gave Tolzien a concussion. Hard for a LT to have a worse day. This is a bigger problem right now than losing Jordy.

Haven't watched the game yet, but Masthay is still struggling? Good god.
I don't think that has anything to do with their standing. I think they were hoping Barclay would start showing signs that he could get back to his previous form and wanted to give him a long look at LT. I think they wanted to get Walker mostly work at RT to see if he can play there, so when Sitton sat early and Lang went out with a concussion, Taylor and Gerhart subbed for them.
Walker had been at Guard for a lot of camp. I think he and Barclay were getting tryouts for a backup tackle job. Barclay got first go at LT, which, whatever the internal grading is on each guy, is consistent for M3 and his O line. The vet got the first chance to fill in.
But I am not sure its the same backup tackle job. Barclay could still make this team as the backup RT and Guard, though that begs the question of who backs up at LT. And the answer is probably Bulaga before its Walker, unless he just soars in the two remaining games.
Bears DT Jeremiah Ratliff suspended 3 games. It stems from a 2013 DUI. He pleaded guilty earlier this year.
Run Eddie Run!
Terrell Suggs was flagged for a hit to the knees of Sam Bradford. NFL now says the hit was legal because it was a zone read play. Eagles say it was a penalty because it wasn't a zone read play, but just a handoff out of the shotgun. I think the NFL is going to have a problem if their weekend employees (Officials) are expected to knpw that much about offensive formations. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...t-on-zone-read
It was a legal hit, and the NFL already said so. The refs are supposed to use discretion to determine when the option QB has removed himself from the play. Bradford hadn't definitively done that, so chock it up to an officiating error.
I think it's Chip Kelly that should do the adjusting. Imagine if Bradford has torn another ACL...
What's the feeling in Green Bay about Rodgers playing tomorrow. Philly talking heads are thinking he won't play and are a little POed cause they want to see how their defense is against the best.
I'd like to see him play, but if Barclay is playing LT, I don't know how any QB is going to have a good night. But, it's the 1st home game of the preseason, the place is going to be rocking even though it's preseason...how can you not have your franchise player at least play a series?
I don't think he plays the rest of the preseason, nor should he.
3 series
1 series.
isn't this suppose to be the dress rehearsal?
i don't like playing scared. the starting QB has to play more then 2 or 3 series in all of preseason. if not for him, at least for everyone else to get use to playing with him
our OL is not looking good and needs to get healthy
Given that, I sit AROD
What is tempting, however, is the fact that Jordy is down...there would be value to getting into the swing of things w/o have Jordy out there so we have time to make adjustments of what we did not do well
I'm thinking at least a series, at most a quarter.
If Barclay is at LT, I'm praying every drop back. I just don't know why the staff insists on keeping him there. Try someone else for God's sake. Barclay can't handle it.
It's like the Newhouse situation all over again.
I hope we wait a week and have Rodgers play more then with our O line starters is tatters.
