It's tone; but obviously you don't see it. Or maybe I'm still thinking of the 40 yd field goal comment pot stir and am letting that attempt influence my view here
tone? I don't think bert played great. I backed it up.
40 yard fg? Simply noted that it ain't easy. Have no idea who said what..cept that some posters think it should be automatic.
And i backed up that he played well and made the plays needed to WIN the football game. He can't do it alone, as I noted. It's really showing the type of team Minn really is, and it aint Berts fault. 26/40, 321 yards, two td's, no ints, game tieing TD pass, 17 point come back, had a drive going in OT that ended with a AP fumble.
What more can the guy do? I agree, if Brett has to be a Superstar for Minn to win games, then minn really isn't as good as they think they are, but that doesn't mean bringing Brett is was a bad move. He has clearly played at a level the other QB's on that team can't compete with, and is playing well enough for a super bowl run, just like in 07. The question is how he plays in the playoffs, and how the rest of his team plays. Is that defense going to show up? Are the special teams going to keep giving up huge returns? Is the OL going to continue to look like the packers OL circa begining of 09?
And is Brett going to fold up, or is he going to be a Super star. All questions no one can answer. All I know is, Brett played great today. Not perfect. He came through in the clutch, and HIS TEAM lost it for him.
