Best Packer Uni I've seen yet
kinda looks like the Raiders
Yeah but much better with the forest green and tan. Almost gives it a eddie bauer throwback look
that uni is awesome
I dunno, the Gold is really Gold. I kinda like the gold being brighter...
Looks more like Notre Dame.
Ron Wolf hated what he called mustard yellow.
I'm with Tarlam. Replace the gold with yellow and I'd be down with it. This ain't Notre Dame.
I like it all, except the helmet
I like it, actually replace the green with Blue and then you might have something.
This goes back to the early Holmgren/Wolf years, as was stated.
Wolf wanted very much to rid the losing attitude and establish a new GB tradition. One of Lombardi's first moves were updating the Packer uniforms. Wolf totally wanted to make the Gold in the G&G actual gold, much like Notre Dame. They also wanted a more modern, almost metallic green. Much like the Seahawks or Eagles when they changed their green.
Wolf commisioned the new designs, and got a lot of favorable feedback initially. However, the old guard on the pack Exec committee were flat out horrifed. Wolf wanted to fry bigger fish and scuttled the new design. Then , the Pack took off and got the winning attitude established by actual wins.
I could see pieces of the new ideas incorported into a 3rd uni used for specialty games. I seem to recall there was a game, designated as a "future" game a few years back. I'd go for something like that, but a total change? NFW
That uni looks like crap..
We have the best uni in football..It needs no changing..The only thing I would do is change it back to 5 stripes on the sleeve instead of three, like they were in the early to mid 90s..
That tan is ass ugly..How anyone could like that uni is beyond me..
It is actually gold, not tan.
Looks pretty tan to me..
That's not the point tho, the point is the uni is ass ugly..
and it would be better to rename the stadium too!!!! don't F with some traditions.
Speaking of Renaming, rumor has been flying around chicago that they are selling naming rights to Wrigly field. another travisty! its all about the almighty $$$
I also immediately think of ND when I see that uni.
I've never liked the updated/modern looking uniforms. This one isn't extreme enough to stand out, but when you watch old game films, uni's that were designed to look modern at the time always end up looking...art deco or something.
Think of the creamsicle's, Seattle mettalic from the 90's. Another one I hate is the current Denver uni - can't stand that stripe. There are others, but I just can't think of them
I don't like attempts to go Retro either. Just give me a good, solid uniform that looks like it belongs.
I really liked the proposed uni, with perhaps a green stripe on the side of the pants.
A good time to have introduced a new uni would have been with the 2003 season when they starting playing in the newly renovated stadium.
Too many people in this town who are afraid of change though, so it will never happen.
I actually recreated my Packer uniforms in my Madden2006 franchise and they look very similar to this (isn't it ironic, don't you think?). The gold makes the uniform look more regal in my opinion. I dig it--not that a change would ever happen.

I love the retro uniforms--like the Giants, Washington, and San Diego. Those are sweet.
On one hand, I don't want the unis to change. On the other hand, I really think if they were going to change them, the ones above are pretty sweet.
I remember bashing a Vikings fan about their "purple" uni's and asked him what sortta colour that is.Quote:

It's also a Lavender color.
I think there's a difference between the "regalness" of purple and of gold. Purple is regal if you're a grape. Purple is the lavender regalness of a queen. Gold is regal worldwide. Gold is a precious metal sought after in every culture. The Pack does not truly have gold coloring. They really have yellow, and, as another posters suggested, MUSTARD yellow.
Given the storied history of the Pack, the yellow should be switched to gold.

Well, being an Aussie, our national team colours in sports being green and gold (mustard yellow) I am obviously biased. I am happy with gold = mustard yellow. Now, if you can get me 24 k carat clouring, not that "tan", I'd be O.K. But it is so hard to get textiles to shine like a gold bar!
A little too ironicQuote:

It looks too plain and too dark. I love our current uniform.
I like these unis

I love the simple, old school look. Right now, I like our away jerseys, but I hate our home jerseys. That proposed vintage green/gold look is nice. I'd make it just like Alabama's but with the other colors.
I think my favorite jersey in the NFL is the Pittsburgh Steelers away. My favorite home/away combo is the KC Chiefs. Simple is better. Get a good color/colors, a good vintage looking helmet and don't veer too far from that.
Why the bump action, oh Iron one?
Blegging (begging in a blog) got you a green naked mole rat, I don't see why it shouldn't produce an amalgamation of Fat Albert, the Jolly Green Giant, and a flask of purple drank. I'm pretty sure Rand can do that stuff when he's not busy making money for the Man.
How about the Kool-Aid man turned purple with Jolly's number?
....here's a start:

I was too young to recall if there was an outcry back in when Lombardi wanted to change our colors from blue and yellow to green and yellow...
