One of Ted's pick earning praise somewhere else.

Jets coach Eric Mangini gushed about second-year WR David Clowney Friday.

"They've got to pop off the screen . . . and Clowney has popped," Mangini said. Clowney, who spent most of last season on the practice squad, also impressed in spring OTAs. He has a chance to be the Jets fifth receiver this season.

What was the knock against him again? I think it was lack of strength, wasn't it?

I think it was the big floppy shoes, the red nose and the face makeup.

I think he was skinny and raw, but a good pick. The Jets snagged him off our practice roster and gave him an 80-man roster spot for a while.

I hope he does well, and it gives TT wall-earned praise.

Wow. He's not clowning around this year.

C'mon Brett, go to the Jets. You've got a partner in crime to prove Ted wrong.

Bad route runner; bad hands. Fast as hell.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.
