YO.........WOULD THE REAL MVP PLEASE STAND UP

Been listeing to NFL Network a lot lately. They keep debating on the MVP and throw out names such as Payton Manning, Tom Brady, AP, AROD a little, and even Luck and Griffin.

So I'd like to offer some thoughts and let you know who deserves to be standing up right now. Please offer your own views as well

Andrew Luck.....Seriously ? I think Luck might be a future star and has played quite well for a rookie. But the worst team in NFL to playoff logic is a bit flawed. This was a roster who made it to the playoffs year after year after year with Payton Manning. The Colts did perhaps the worst job in the NFL protecting themselves against an injury to Payton Manning, and that showed last week. Their QB play was so pathetic they couldn't win. With even an average backup (no, that is not Graham Harrell either), I think that team wins 7 games last year. Luck has played well.....well minus the 100 interceptions.....but dude is no MVP. DENIED as a legit candidate

RG III---Dude put up nice numbers and is a legit candidate for the Rook of the Year along with Russell the Great and Luck. Numbers wise, he's a pretty legitimate candidate and has propelled the Redskins into the NFL Playoff Hunt. If you are a Redskin fan, you have to be excited and the future is bright. The Redskins are a pretty well developed team. My view of Griffin as the MVP might actually have lost a bit of steam after watching an old nemises from the crappy Spartans look so good last week. Shannahan has really done a nice job surrounding RG3 with talent. Numbers wise, though, I think he's a condidate that will be considered in the top 4-5. Reality wise, he's not quite there as a legit candidate.

Aaron Rodgers- Homersism aside, what he's done this year is very impressive considering he's been working with an absolutely broken offensive line. Dude rarely throws with good form because he's spending so much time avoiding pass rushers exposing the Marshmellow and our make shift OL. He's been sacked and hit as much as any QB in the NFL, yet her continues to produce numbers and more importantly wins. Another main reason he's not seriously considered is the incredible season he put up last year...........this year....to some, is a disappointment if one ignores the situation
Legit Candidate............absolutely...........but AROD......no need to stand up

Payton Manning.......OK, let's get the fuzzy feelings out........you proved so many wrong and have propelled the Denver Broncos near the top....probably one of the two or three legitimate teams in the AFC....destined to have another playoff battle with Hoody Genius and Hoody Genius 2. To the Denver callers, he's the clear cut MVP. Now I'd like to give them a reality slapdown. The Broncos have legit frickin talent....TEEEBBBBOOWWWW.......wooo oooooo... as the chant went, lead this squad to the playoffs and one win in the playoffs. Undboutedly Manning makes them better, but I'm not sure I consider Denver an elite offense based on points scored by that offense per game. He's made them better, undoubtedly...but Legit MVP Candidate ? DENIED

Tom Brady.............Dude has great numbers. The lack of INT's has been incredible. Life is so dam unfair. Not only does Brady get the best coach in the NFL since Lombardi in Hoody Genius........but he also gets to work with the best Offensive Coordinator in the NFL as well in Hoody Genius Jr. We should have all seen this coming. Another historic season from Tom Brady....very talented team Incredible Numbers on a team surrounded with loads of talent on offense. Tom Brady.....Legit Candidate...absofrickinlutely........but no need to stand up Tom......watch and admire

All Day Peterson.........this dude....proves himself to be nother short of phenominal. One thing separating All Day from the others.........when you think of the surrounding cast.............wait....in MN....where is it ? Tough to even name multiple players above average on defense. J Allen....ok..maybe Greenwood...but who else ? Truth be told they aren't that good. Playmakers on offense ? Don't hold your breath. What QB helps elevate his play ? Ponder has been terrible. What WR protects him ? Percey I'm alway hurt this year Harvin has been out since AP has made his huge run. Truth be told Peterson is carrying this team on his back and each week when I think his run will be done he continues to impress. Does anybody think Vikings when we think playoffs ? In my mind on paper they are still the worst talent in the division. Without Peterson this IMO is a 2-3 win team this year. With him they almost make the playoffs.

AP, you are the real deal. Chalk it up. Stand your ass up and come get your trophy.
    You are the MVP
LIFE IS ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS; I JUST REALIZED THIS. The MILWAUKEE BUCKS have won the same number of championships over the past 50 years as the Green Bay Packers. Ten years from now, who will have more championships, and who will be the fart in the wind ?

Would they give it to AP if the queens miss the playoffs?

That is a legit question; I think it would be very ignorant to eliminate somebody based on that criteria. I also think some of the morons who have voting rights do.
The Vikings will not make the playoffs so I think time will tell

I'd go Brady, Manning or Rodgers. A QB throws 30+ times a game and is responsible for setting pass protections, changing plays at the line, keeping the tempo of the game up, among other things. I would have a hard time voting for a non QB. Brady probably deserves it.

I don't understand why Manning is in that converstation with Brady and Rodgers. He's had a nice year and maybe comeback player of the year, but MVP ?

To ignore AP is to ignore the surrounding cast. Maybe we look at the MVP criteria differently ?

I had Tom Brady winning the MVP too until last week. Suddenly I switched to Aaron Rodgers and just as fast looked at it more carefully and it was obvious to me that AP was the man to best be chosen for the award.

I agree with B. When you study the quality of the Vikings roster and compare that with the Broncos,Pats and Packers. Adrian Peterson's achevement this season already earns him the MVP. The voters don't need to pick the winner based on his teams winning a playoff spot or moreso a Super Bowl. They 'only' need to look at what AP has done for his team 'almost single handidly' to give the Minnesota Vikings a plus in the win column.

The least eligible candidate IMO of the top for is Peyton Manning. The reality of the vote may very likely give him the nod. If so, that's very sad IMO.

There should be a best skill position award for WRs/RBs/TEs, going to the biggest playmaker. Call it the playmaker award or something.

    Maybe give A OPOY?

To me Rodgers will not get it because he is competing against himself! Because of his play last year even tho he is putting up numbers like Brady and Peyton a lot of talking heads see Aaron's numbers and go ho-hum.

AP is the hands down MVP if the Vikes make the playoffs.

i've said it before, AP with the team he's on and what he's done coming off the injury, is having one of the greatest seasons ever by a player at any position

i'd rank brady a distant second, with a-rod very close behind

and i don't buy for a second that a qb nees to win the thing because he does so much. its like the old argument in baseball where a pitcher can't win MVP because he doesn't play every game.

pitchers and running backs do more when they have the ball then qb's or other baseball players do in multiple games

its MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. if you take AP out of the vikings equation, you might have a hard time finding how they win a single game this year. that team is completely devoid of talent outside AP and jared allen

    you're spot on with peyton

tim "jesus fucker" tebow took this team deep into the playoffs last year. peyton has put up good numbers, but that team was also a contender with the worst QB in recent NFL history

Bretsky - you could probably add Matt Ryan to that list - but with the other horses in that race, no way he gets it.

This year, it's defintely not cut and dry like last year. Arod was going to be the clear favorite. 15 and 1, the stats he had - you just knew. Seems QBs always get the attention and rightly so - they are usually the face of the franchise. This year, none are blowing it away as a clear-cut unbeatable machine.

Then you have AP. He's killing it this year. I think if he breaks the rushing record, there's no way he doesn't win MVP.

Should be AP, but I bet it goes to Manning. My opinion is that not only did Denver make it with Tebow last year, but they have played one of the easiest scheduals in the league this year. RE ARod, after last year there is no way they will give it to him this year, also the pack while popular amoungst fans are some what left out by the media. I have heard more talk of Detroits injuries than ours. The thread showing what is left of our oline should be proof enough that Arod is a strong MVP canidate.

    ... B.

    ABSOFRICKINLUTELY.

You invent new exclamatory words 'only' to celebrate exceptional people and achievements by such people.

If 'the REAL MVP' candidate steps to the podium to accept the trophy for this (2012) season, he'll look something like this:

and we're used to seeing him look like this:

    most recently, this way:

    and this way:

This running back has carried his team on his back. He's by far the main reason that the Vikings are even close today to securing a playoff berth. He's done this with a near miraculous and hard fought recovery from major knee damage suffered in a game Vs the Washington Redskins, at this time last year. He's worked his ass off to gain 1812 yards rushing and already deserves the MVP trophy.

Adrian Peterson is by far the MVP of the NFL. He may not be recognized generally by fans who traditionally look to the team leader as that teams QB; but Adrian Peterson is a teams greatest leader this season. The peope who will be responsible for voting on this valued award 'only' have to search inside themselves to see it's Adrian Peterson as the 'only' legitimate candidate to win the award this season.

Peterson top NFC vote-getter for Pro Bowl

    21 Dec. 2012

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Adrian Peterson's remarkable season in his return from knee surgery has led him to being the top vote-getter among all NFC players in fan balloting for the Pro Bowl.

Peterson, the Minnesota Vikings' four-time Pro Bowl back who leads the league with 1,812 rushing yards, finished fourth among all players in the fan voting with 828,225 votes.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning received 993,045 votes to lead all players, followed by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (908,099) and Houston Texans running back Arian Foster (829,591). Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (777,827) rounded out the top-5 vote-getters.

Unless the QB position was really down (and it's really not) I couldn't vote for a RB. Having the greatest season for a RB is great. The fact that RBs have meant very little to a team winning the SB, I just don't think they're nearly as important as QBs and as such, not nearly as valuable.

If I had to pick a player to be on my team this year. I'd take AR or Brady hands down over AP. AP may be more impressive, but valuable. . . Not in my opinion. That goes to the QB's.
