I would suggest going to Tucows.com or Cnet's software downloads for all software that would never be used nefariously.

If you're going to watch on an HDTV, look into DVD Rebuilder and the Cinema Craft Encoder. Otherwise it's going to look like shit on a nice tv

The new Blu-ray DVD's should be interesting in the next 3-5 years as the prices drop. HD recordings on disk.

DVDShrink rocks! I LOVE that program. It always works for me. And I have a little obsession with creating compilations of video clips from many sources - it's editing features are crude but good enough for me. (My obsession is not porn, it's something a bit more gay than that, so I can't tell you.)

One point about DVDShrink: the "shrink" part is that it is compressing a movie to fit on a single-sided DVD. But you don't have to do any compression, I stick on two disks if needed, as I want to preserve full video quality.

I got my copy of the program on LimeWire file sharing. It is an illegal program that you won't find (to my knowlege) on websites. I don't pirate movies, I just make compilation DVDs. Well, guess I DID pirate the Seinfeld series too.

Anyone here use the Gordian Knot suite? I'm trying to, but can't quite sort it out.

DVD Decryptor is the bane of the movie industry. It's awesome!
