    The surprise of Saints camp

    Jamal Jones

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: WR Jamal Jones -- The former Green Bay Packers receiver is fighting a number of wideouts for a roster spot, but he has shown up daily in practice and turned some heads with consistent play. He even was singled out by coach Sean Payton as one of the surprises of early camp.

One of the things that should cause evryone to have some faith is the number of guys the scouts find and after being cut produce elsewhere.
Scottie Vines is Detroit's #1 receiver.
Rashad Lee is with the Raiders after they cut Walt Williams.
    The Packers do great scouting.

Some guys need time to develop.
That's why those who dislike Whitticker display some ignorance.

Vines isn't Detroit's #1 receiver. He had a nice year last year, but Roy Williams is #1 with Corey Bradford starting alongside him. Your point is valid, but I don't know if Green Bay has anymore than most other teams. There are guys on our squad who came from other teams (Gado).

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: WR Hank Baskett. The undrafted rookie is having a sensational camp, catching everything in sight, quickly earning the confidence of QB Donovan McNabb and earning snaps with the first and second units.
