There you go. You remember his name.

You absolutely let the #15 LT walk in a contract year when you believe you have the #10 LT on a rookie deal for a few more years.

Remember, the #15 LT is going to be paid like a #5 LT in the open market.

Not a gangbusters guy, but I think a solid rotational piece.

But in year three, for Walker, you'd think the consistency would be there. But yes, it'll be interesting to watch - what if he in fact plays consistently well this year? Then what? Do you still prioritize Quay Walker, Devonte Wyatt, and Zach Tom? Or do you drag out negotiations with Quay and Devonte to see if one gets hurt or doesn't play well, and if that happens, you set your sights on Rasheed Walker? Lots of moving pieces, as they say. and what if, toward the end of the season, Christian Watson comes back? And plays well? Hoo boy.
Wyatt is under contract next year, no rush. Quay, imo, will lose his job to Simmons. Tom is the only "must sign now" guy. Walker is the guy who we could gamble now that he takes another step. Most of his issues are mental at this point (pre snap penalties, Lazy hands on run blocks.) He could take the last step. He has all the physical tools. If he does, you simply don't let him walk. I don't even think they would trade him in that scenario. I like the set up right now WAY more than I did at the end of last year, but thats because I think we added 3 really good OL. We needed help there and we brought in a FA and 2 quality picks. Add Morgan stepping up and we potentially have the deepest room in the league. Now if we can flip Walker for a quality CB I'm all in.

Well, I said 10-15 if he steps up. From 8-15 there is very little difference. And no, teams don't let those guys walk. Too hard to predictably replace. At worst you trade him if you really believe you have an equal on a rookie deal.
