I don't think Giles fits at all what we want in an OG for the zone blocking scheme. He's a big road grader type. I'd rather get Davin Joseph in round 2.

Even I must say that if we land Hawk,Hali and Gille, this draft would be a smashing success. Hali is a better player than his workout numbers indicate. If you don't think so, ask the Big Ten tackles.

Ryans would be hard to pass on also. This is one of the reasons why I hope they don't take Hawk at 5. Look at all the very good LB's that we could take in round two but Hali or Watson or Pope would be great fits in GB. We neded to trade down and hopefully pick up a high 2. If we could stay in the top 8 and have 2 second rounders, we need to do it. Huff,Davis or Hawk would be there at 8.

Came out after his junior season even though there was a big drop-off in his play from 2004 to 2005...Underrated but very productive player who certainly has the physical tools...A pure cover corner whose stock could rise as the draft nears.

1) Doesn't Tamba Hali's measurables and style of play (speed/edge rusher) remind you a little of Jamal Reynolds (also 6'3", tho about 15 lbs lighter).
2) Jean-Gilles: I thought with the zone blocking scheme that getting to the second level was important.
3) Martin: Sounds too much like Joey Thomas. Same conference too? (WAC?)

I have a friend that lives in Milwaukee and he's heped Big Time on Tamba Hali. I began to follow his games some (stat's) and noticed his stock rise and then slip of late. I would think he's excellent second round value. I am guessing he'll be gone before we pick in the second.

One never knows how their College game translates to the NFL. I would have thought, that with all his achievements in College that Jamal Reynolds would have turned out fine for us. . . but . . . too bad! One of the Great mysteries in Packer Life.

Most of the updated rankings don't have Hali as the second rated DE, so you have to be careful with what boards you are going off of. I actually have huge concerns with Hali. The dude is as small as Jamal Reynolds and he's slower. Remember that Reynolds had something like 17 sacks during his senior year in college. To me, the biggest mistakes in the draft are undersized, pass rushing DEs that kicked ass in college. It seldom translates. I think I'd rather get Mark Anderson.
