If Packers sign no more UFA's for more than 3 million per year, they are expected to receive 2 4th, 1 5th and 1 6th round comp picks in 2027. Plus they will have Dallas' 4th round pick from the Gary trade.

Doubs contract is now being reported (there aren't details at Over the Cap yet so its not been released in full) as 4 years $68 mil or 17 million per year. Definitely a 4th round pick. Playing time probably won't be enough to push that higher unless the incentives somehow count (he could earn up to $80 mil over 4 years if he hits them all).

Couple things on my mind:

Trevon Diggs? Haven't heard squat on the Packer front or anywhere else. Maybe the Packers saw enough in the limited time they had him? Just weird. It's obvious Packers need CB depth. He can't be asking for a shit ton of money.

Packers back up QB? If the Malik Willis experiment proved anything, you need a good back up in this league. A 6th rounder no name QB from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is not going to win you games if and when Love goes down for a spell. I heard rumors of Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Jimmy Garoppolo, but just rumors. I don't want Jimmy Garoppolo - he's too old. Let's keep with the trend; a younger QB that hasn't panned out and are mobile.

Veteran NT? I think the Packers still need a veteran NT. Hargrave isn't the answer in my opinion. He can do it, but just be cause he can, doesn't mean he should. He's not the type of DT for taking on double teams, he's best suited for one gap and penetrate. Someone like DJ Reader is who the Packers should think about.

It's still early, so maybe the Packers aren't done yet.

"We all"? I for one never had a very high opinion of Walker - not Rasheed or for that matter, Quay either. He did a mediocre job run blocking and a piss poor job of pass blocking. Thank goodness we've had mobile QBs.

I think Rasheed Walker’s low salary, resulting in getting a lower comp pick for Green Bay makes it less likely Guter deals for Josh Sweat.

Wherever Sneed goes, it will probably be a low base salary with incentives based on games played. Don't think he'll get a contract like Hobbs got last year.

Titans are releasing CB L'Jarius Sneed, which will save Tennessee $11.4 million against the cap, per sources. Titans informed Snead’s agents, the Katz Brothers, of their decision today; Sneed now will become a free agent.

Reporting says it a one year deal worth up to $10 mil per if he gets all his incentives. Brutal compared to projections. 6th round compensation pick. Unless he winds up starting all season.

I was thinking the three-headed monster of Hargrave/Stackhouse/Ford opens up GB’s options in the draft. Instead of “needing” a NT maybe they can choose between that and a 3-tech. Or go corner first?

I agree with you - there’s more depth now but no difference-makers up front except for Wyatt when he’s not hurt.

And that will be another interesting decision to make. Does he get a second contract if he plays well and manages to stay on the field this season?

I’m coming around to Thunder Dan’s (or is it Bobble’s?) idea that Guter drafts athletes who need a long time to develop, and then with injuries and/or only one good year to show, deciding on 2nd contracts becomes more of a gamble. You control them for four (or five if it’s first round) years but only seem to get one good year out of them. Morgan, Doubs, Watson.

That would be Bobble's idea. But I do concur with his deduction. We tend to draft physically specimens instead of football players in Round 1.

Think we need another DT that is a vet. CBs can contribute year one, seems like most if not all DTs take a year or two.

Forgot the Packers lost Quinton Bohannan but still have restricted or exclusive rights on Jordon Riley, who appears on the roster at the moment.

That means they carry Hargraves, Ford, Riley* and Stackhouse as actual noses, plus Wyatt, Brooks and Brinson at more of a 3 tech. Brinson and Stackhouse are low round developmental guys and Brinson is on team 2 with his first contract. So there isn't a TON of upside here but there is more depth than I imagined at first. A draft pick or two makes this a different picture than the one I feared.

* Not certain he is a true nose; he's got the weight, but he's tall (6 foot 5 inches)

If Riley projects as a 3 tech in Gannon's front, then a nose tackle in the draft still makes sense though that runs against the need for more pass rush.

The Hargrave signing makes sense, as does the St. Juste signing.

Between Sky Moore, St. Juste, Welch, and Nieman, if the Packers get a real kicker the ST might have the players to be special next year, and not in a short bus kind of way.
