Boy, maybe the market doesn't think as much of Rasheed Walker as we all do. Surprised he went for so little!

Titans are releasing CB L'Jarius Sneed, which will save Tennessee $11.4 million against the cap, per sources. Titans informed Snead’s agents, the Katz Brothers, of their decision today; Sneed now will become a free agent.
Hmmm... Good corner who has missed most of last 2 seasons with quad injuries.

That would be Bobble's idea. But I do concur with his deduction. We tend to draft physically specimens instead of football players in Round 1.Originally posted by Fritz View PostI was thinking the three-headed monster of Hargrave/Stackhouse/Ford opens up GB’s options in the draft. Instead of “needing” a NT maybe they can choose between that and a 3-tech. Or go corner first?
I agree with you - there’s more depth now but no difference-makers up front except for Wyatt when he’s not hurt.
And that will be another interesting decision to make. Does he get a second contract if he plays well and manages to stay on the field this season?
I’m coming around to Thunder Dan’s (or is it Bobble’s?) idea that Guter drafts athletes who need a long time to develop, and then with injuries and/or only one good year to show, deciding on 2nd contracts becomes more of a gamble. You control them for four (or five if it’s first round) years but only seem to get one good year out of them. Morgan, Doubs, Watson.

Think we need another DT that is a vet. CBs can contribute year one, seems like most if not all DTs take a year or two.Originally posted by Fritz View PostI was thinking the three-headed monster of Hargrave/Stackhouse/Ford opens up GB’s options in the draft. Forgot the Packers lost Quinton Bohannan but still have restricted or exclusive rights on Jordon Riley, who appears on the roster at the moment.
That means they carry Hargraves, Ford, Riley* and Stackhouse as actual noses, plus Wyatt, Brooks and Brinson at more of a 3 tech. Brinson and Stackhouse are low round developmental guys and Brinson is on team 2 with his first contract. So there isn't a TON of upside here but there is more depth than I imagined at first. A draft pick or two makes this a different picture than the one I feared.
* Not certain he is a true nose; he's got the weight, but he's tall (6 foot 5 inches)
If Riley projects as a 3 tech in Gannon's front, then a nose tackle in the draft still makes sense though that runs against the need for more pass rush.

The Hargrave signing makes sense, as does the St. Juste signing.
Between Sky Moore, St. Juste, Welch, and Nieman, if the Packers get a real kicker the ST might have the players to be special next year, and not in a short bus kind of way.

So Jonathan Ford and Hargrave on the d line plus the youngsters, plus Brooks and Van Ness on pass rush downs and guessing at least one draft pick.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostBig signing! Literally.

From Minnesota to Green Bay: Former Vikings DT Javon Hargrave reached agreement today on a 2-year deal for $23 million, including $13 million this year with the Packers, per Drew Rosenhaus.
Hargrave had his best year in 2022 for Eagles when Gannon was DC.

Playing time factors in. Sky won't get many snaps outside of returns so I doubt this cancels anything.Originally posted by pbmax View PostSkyy Moore might be making enough to cancel the Quay Walker compensatory choice (guesstimated at a fifth rounder) according to Justus Mosqueda. That is a bit of a surprise. Its close and he says we need to see the full details to know. But the Packers might be down to 3 compensatory picks after this one.

He's almost doing Kirk level work by playing worse. Got a fifth year option from the Giants by having one well timed good year. Got hurt that next year and got a mulligan second contract from the Giants.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostTom Pelissero

The Colts and QB Daniel Jones are finalizing a two-year, $88 million deal that can be worth up to $100 million with incentives, sources tell me and @rapsheet.bsky.social
Originally on the transition tag, Indiana Jones gets over $60 million guaranteed on a deal done by Athletes First.
A year later the Colts found him and have now gifted him the rest of that second contract.

Raiders star Maxx Crosby, now back from Baltimore with the trade to the Ravens off, is headed back into the building in Las Vegas, ready to resume his training and rehab program.
His mindset: Crosby is ready to play football for the Raiders and move forward.

Cap as of now. Don't be fooled by the $32 mil space number. Still more contracts to count against it. Think $18 million in functional space. Per Ken Ingall's Twitter.
