Tomorrow is the 130th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn, AKA Custer's Last Stand.
Recently wrote a term paper examining the battle, Custer's leadership and military skills, the Native American account, etc. Got an A-.
My conclusion: Custer was really good at fighting a conventional opponent. Against the Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho - not so much.
