Dear Blogg,

Still no new project but I have to do data entries, which is boring as hell. I'd rather do nothing than do data entries. O well, that is the price you pay when to try to make your resume look better.

I have to go for now. Cannot let the boss catch me in here.

Dear Blogg,

The more i work on the data entries, the more i feel like a robot. I just type and type numbers and figures onto a program.

What is the meaning of human being when we all are just robots? That question lingers in my mind as i sit in front of a computer. Isnt it ironic, I sit in front of a machine and yet i am a machine myself.

Dear Blogg,

I got off work at 5 PM today. I planed to get high the rest of the night, since I am so tired from work. But at the last minute, i decided to go play some basketball. Man, black people sure are good at basketball.

I wish my game was as good as Jason Williams, but unfortuantly it is not. Still, i was the best defender at the gym, thanks to me refining my game after my hero Dennis Rodman.

Game was ok. We won some, we lost some. Time to get high now.

I wish my game was as good as jason williams:

That is okey, retail guy. Basketball is a sport in which African Americans excel. To combine basketball and "black people" is more complimentary than offensive. After all, when one think of basketball, one automatically think of the good black folks.

I could be wrong, though, and if i am wrong, please somebody correct me. I am a liberal and i dont want anybody perceiving the wrong idea.

No need to install cameras Tank. I was an employee, and still am to lots of clients.... I know what they are doing, that's the same thing I was doing when I was someones employee. It is just a fact of life.

Today, I try to motivate people to want to do their jobs, by recognizing accomplishment and delegating "fun" things too. It works with some, and doesn't with others. They typically move along rather quickly.

I know I've poked a bit of fun at you, but I am enjoying your escapades.

Just be careful, big brother can be watching without cameras. If they've got IT people, they've probably got computer logs of what you are visiting and how much time you're working.

Yes, my boss is like yours too. When I worked the burger joint in HS (how else could i have gotten money to buy weed? Once my parents found out i am buying the good stuff with my allowance, they stopped giving me money) , the boss there never give us a break. Waaaayyyy too expensive. Lunch and ice cream have a better effect on morale, they're a lot cheaper and a lot more fun.... :D Just try showing up at the office with ice cream sundaes for everyone when it is 80 degrees outside. Nobody is ever on a "diet" at that moment.

I like my sex free.

There is no such thing as free sex. It's just a matter of how you pay.

Oh, if you're dating, you normally get three free rides. But then the expectations and demands start. Are you really ready to change, Tank?

And lets say you are swept along, decide to commit to the full package. Are you aware that there are two (2) ring purchases needed to close the deal!? A diamond engagement ring is just the down payment. Six months later you're buying a gold one.

Before you know it, you're driving a station wagon full of kids smearing popsicle sticks on the window.

Tank, how is the "opportunity cost" of that pretty hooker looking now? You can go top-shelf call girl and still come out way ahead.

Anti-Polar Bear
06-13-2006, 11:44 PM
Thanks for the wise words, Harlan. But I believe there is a better alternative: single night stands. I did some research on the cost of certain "call girls" and the price ranges from $250-$450 for half an hour. I am in a college environment, so there's plenty of horny girls looking for experience. Say dinner for 2 cost $20, two movie tickets cost $15 and hotel room cost $80, altogether equals to $115. That's more economic than hiring a prostitute.

Of course if your goal is to get laid, then hiring a prostitute might be the better option since not all girls are willing to have sex on the first date. But as a man of virtue, I'd rather take my chance than have sex "unethically."

Either things have changed a lot or the college I attended was just pretty wacked. When I did my internship I worked 40 hours a week, no pay and was on call on weekends whenever the person I was following was on call. It lasted an entire semester. I see people coming in to do internships where I work and they only do a certain amount of hours and they can just make their own schedules. To have money to live on I bartended and waitressed 4 nights a week ....after my "regular" job....internship. I was fried at the end of that last semester.

"There is no substitute for love, not even sex. "

-Thomas Sowell (and many others).

APB, you can have a one night stand with anyone you want, just use your imagination, a dark room, and five fingers. But if you want one night stands with women for just sex, that's what you'll get - meaningless sex. Women (and surprise! men) actually want love more than sex. I'll admit that men are far mor interested in sex than women (especially after women have children), but finding meaning in the world outside of sex and drugs, actually requires one to sacrifice at least some (or the frequency of) base or caranal pleasures. Enjoy your search for truth and meaning.

Sincerely,

I am being false. In reality, she said she just broke up with her last boyfriend recently and does not feel like dating as of know. As a fan of the X files, i dont know if i can trust her on that. Is it just another way of saying no? I am sad. I will write a song about her later.

Ok, I'll be real honest. My name isn't Tyler. I don't really like the name and am saddened that you're burdened with the name. The only true Tyler that I know is the son of a friend of mine who is blind, partially deaf, has mental retardation, is autistic, has major birth defects and spends his days playing piano and bouncing his head back and forth on couch cushions. No lie. Sadly, when I think of a Tyler--other than Edward Norton/Brad Pitt from "Fight Club"--I think of him.

Haha, yeah right. My freshman year in college, i followed a chick I liked after class back to her room a few times since i was curious where she lives, and i wanted to ask her out; she almost filed a stalking charge against me. Advice from Vince Vaughn in Wedding Crashers, kinda....

Janice, I apologize to you if I don't seem real eager to jump into a forced awkward intimate situation that people like to call dating. I don't like the feeling. You're sitting there, you're wondering do I have food on my face, am I eating enough, am I talking too much, are they talking enough, am I interested? I'm not really interested, should I play like I'm interested but I'm not that interested but I think she might be interested but do I want to be interested but now she's not interested? So all of the sudden I'm getting, I'm starting to get interested... And when am I supposed to kiss her? Do I have to wait for the door cause then it's awkward, it's like well goodnight. Do you do like that ass-out hug? Where you like, you hug each other like this and your ass sticks out cause you're trying not to get too close or do you just go right in and kiss them on the lips or don't kiss them at all? It's very difficult trying to read the situation. And all the while you're just really wondering are we gonna get hopped up enough to make some bad decisions? Perhaps play a little game called "just the tip". Just for a second, just to see how it feels. Or, ouch, ouch you're on my hair.

Thats a good point Tank. Ask her to a concert or an art showing, you know as friends. It doesn't have to be spectacular, even to see a band in a downtown bar. Either way pay for the tickets or the cover charge. That way she owes you. Be careful how you collect, refuse any kind of cash payment, this has to be subtle, just say, "Hey, just let me know when there is a band that you want to see, and you have nobody else to go with."

You can't be pushy, but the point is to get as many moments alone with her, lets just call these opportunities "dates" even thought they are the last things you want to call them infront of this girl. She won't like it.

I rarely go out much in DC; so never been to some of the place you are talking about. I would rather stay at home and smoke weed with the roommates. DC is an ant farm, very class conscious. If you're at the top or near the top, life is good. At the bottom, I am not sure exactly but from what I've witnessed of homelessness and based on my feelings, it seems depressing. DC, like most large cities, is composed of poverty, crime, hate, class division, politikcans, economic inequality, high cost of living, and bad traffic.

I've been to a few Wizard games, and a couple of Redskins games (one against the Pack), Pentagon City (just the mall for necessary shopping), downtown bars, clubs, the FBI building, ESPZone, and stuff like that. Most of the time, though, I just hang out around campus.

That sounds like my life early last year--weed, video games, football chatter and metal concerts. Now my life is completely different--far more stressful and complicated. Coming from someone who wishes that utopia could be the best of both worlds, I'd suggest that you enjoy your selfish time. It probably won't always be that way and, at some point, you're going to long to get it back. That time will come sooner than you think. Chill and enjoy. Do what makes you happy because life is too short.

Damn right! In college, we got into the habit of smoking and chilling - got old after awhile. Then, we figured we could actually do shit while high. There's nothing like walking up State Street completely baked or playing bball at the Serf. Now bowling, golf, tennis, frisbee, movies, beaches, etc are ALL better when stoned. Don't let ultra social conservatives strain on your game - do what you want. I find people in this mindset are often less agitated, stressed out which in turn leads to better work performance and utlimately (and surprisingly) a healthier/longer life! (stepping off the stepstool  )

There isn't much happening right now but entries. Since the boss is not here, I am taking more breaks than usual. I've just finished checking out the Perfect Enemy myspace that JSR provided. I cannot hear the demo that turned on automatically because this is a quiet enviroment and i had to turn off the volume after 5 seconds. There are no headphones available. I will listen to the demos later and if i like it i will see if i can buy a copy of their album. Perfect Enemy sounds pretty good from the 5 seconds I've listened.

Anybody think Audioslave is a metal band? or is there a different between metal and hard rock? Or is they an alternatvie rock band? I like Audioslave's out of exile album very much.

Thanks for checking out the site Tank. I appreciate it. And double my thanks to you if you end up purchasing it. Our CD release party is here in the Twin Cities on July 22 and we've got an awesome bill of the following bands. Coincidentally, they're all on myspace. (All art and merch and marketing designed by me).

Perfect Enemy (www.myspace.com/perfectenemy)
GingerJake (www.myspace.com/gingerjake)--check out the lead singer; she's a hottie
One Less Reason (www.myspace.com/onelessreason)--band from Florida
Drift Effect (www.myspace.com/drifteffect)

Audioslave. An interesting discussion there. I spent last weekend doing shit around the house all weekend long and their new song was played over and over again on the local rock station. I actually started thinking about that too. The new stuff is so unlike Soundgarden and DEFINITELY far away from the power of Rage Against the Machine.

There's a definite difference between metal and hard rock. I guess I would say that hard rock edges closer to pop, has recognizable hooks and choruses and the music isn't as complicated. Metal is about attitude, aggressiveness and guitars. Slipknot is metal; Stone Sour is hard rock. Tool is metal; A Perfect Circle is hard rock. (A comparison driven from the fact that the lead singers are the same for respective bands, but are aimed at different markets, genres).

It's probably more complicated than that, but that's the abridged version.

Thanks for the explanation, Jack. I will check out your links later when i get home. As for audioslave, I know Chris Cornell was formerly of Soundgarden but I've never listened to the band before. I believe Cornell turned Audioslave toward a different direction, away from Rage, because he did not want to be writing politcal inspired songs. Anyway, thanks again for the clarification.

I was a big fan of both Soundgarden and Rage, but I don't get into Audioslave. They seem like a watered-down version of what both bands were in the 90s. Both were amazing in their own right. Soundgarden has sooooo many classic songs. You should check them out sometime. If I were going to recommend a single Soundgarden song, I'd probably say check out "Fell on Black Days" (which, actually sounds a bit like Audioslave). Soundgarden was truly a heavier band in its heyday, with hits like "Outshined", "Jesus Christ Pose", "Black Hole Sun", "Blow Up The Outside World" and "Pretty Noose".

Given your statement about politics, you obviously know what Rage was all about. That's probably why I can't get into Audioslave. Tom Morello, who is the guitarist for Audioslave and was one of the driving political forces behind Rage, seems like a silenced man with Audioslave. He's still a political activist, but he's had to shut up for the sake of making mainstream music and money. I absolutely loved Rage Against the Machine. Still do. For the art they made and for what they stood for, tried to do.

Tank, why not try taking her to one of the multitude of free things going on in DC. That place is always crawling with stuff to do. Tell her you'd like to go to the Renwick to see the Grant Wood exhibit featuring American Gothic, but would feel weird going to see it alone. Last time I was in DC, we went there and the level of detail in his work is really cool. Now you can say that you've heard it was really good and you thought she might like it. Then take her as a friend and come up with the next free simple thing to do in DC. If nothing else, at least you get to see a famous painting.

Good post, jack. I agree with everything you wrote regarding Rage and Morello. I pretty much like Rage too and the things they stood for, although if i were to start a band today, it'll be more Coldplay-ish. That's why I enjoy Audioslave. Dear Blogg,

I am still doing entries. As I do the entries, I cannot hide my anger regarding the outcome of last night's Mavs-Heat game 5 NBA final matchup. The Mavs were robbed, and robbed bed. The Heat's last possion should not have been. First, DeWyane Wade caught the inbound pass behind the line of scrimage, which is a black court violation. Secondly, Wade obivously was seen pushing off defenders after defenders on his way to the basket after the inbound; that was obivously offecive foul. Thirdly, no body fouled Wade as he shot and missed badly with about 2 seconds left. The refs called it on Dirk Nowtizki. I am comm on!

Is the Josh Howard timout a miscommunitaction or screw up by the refs? More like the latter. The refs said after the game that Howard asked twice for a t.o, which howard deined. The refs just want Maimi to win; the NBA too, to get back at Mark Cuban.

Speaking of Cuban, he has every right to be mad. Game 5 was scripted. Mavs were doomed from the start.

Tank, Wade's last play was legit. The foul was a tough call, granted. The refs just got so used to blowing whistles after the HackAShaq bullshit that DTown was trying (Kharma is a bitch). The T.O - clearly Howard called for it and the refs have no choice but to grant it (it's not their decision to call a T.O). The worst part of all this was Cuban's flair up and Dirk acting like Rodman - very classless - I mean what the hell has a stationary bike every done to Dirk.

Don't worry though, Dallas has dominated at home. They'll take care of Game 6 and it'll come down to #7 - home team with a large advantage. Personally, I'm pretty neutral here (I like Wade, Shaq, Payton, Mourning - hate Reilly; Like Harris, Van Horn, Dirk - hate Cuban). My edge goes slightly to Dallas as I lived there for my job for a year and always pull for a Badger over a Warrior

Tank, Wade's last play was legit.

I disagree wholesomly. That was illegit from the very start.

Here's Cuban's owen words:

"You can't be established in the frontcourt, then jump into the backcourt," Cuban said after watching a replay. "My understanding from the rule book is, if you are going to catch the ball in the backcourt, you have to be in the backcourt to catch it. You can't be established into the backcourt after you catch it or that's a backcourt violation."

Nope - Cuban should stick to his job as owner and not referee. I read the official manual from nba.com - Rule 8, Section III, part e:

Any ball out-of-bounds in a team’s
frontcourt or at the midcourt line
cannot be passed into the backcourt.
On all backcourt and midcourt
violations, the ball shall be awarded to
the opposing team at the midcourt line,
and must be passed into the frontcourt.
EXCEPTION: During the last two
minutes of the fourth period and/or any
overtime period, the ball may be passed
anywhere (frontcourt or backcourt) on
the court.

If Wonder Woman's jet is invisible, how does she find it and use the controls?

I understand that Superman is very strong and can leap many miles, but how does he fly in a straight line? Doesn't he experience the forces of gravity? at least the Hulk (MARVEL, Inc. TM), when he jumps many miles, follows the expected parabolic trajectory. Superman makes no sense to me.

If I had a dollar for every time I have failed to discrimpline, I would buy a cheeseburger that I have envied for a couple months now. It has sliced pickles and mustard. Heavy on the tard.

Dear Blogg, I just got home. I am changing my cloths now. I am going to the gym to work out and play basketball. My workout goal is to gain 5 lbs of musle by the end of the summer, and run/swim/jog 30 minutes 3 times a week for the rest of my life. I believe i can archive such goal.

Dear Blogg,

I have just finished playing basketball and working out. I was hot during basketball, scoring 8 points and handing out countless assists in leading my team to 2 wins. After working out, I know feel very very sexy. Damn, I am so sexy. Yet, as I am a hetrosexual liberal, I neither practiice narcissism nor dandyism nor metrosexaulism.

Two more sets of 25 situps and then hit the shower and then supper and then finally ( fell in the blank; if you dont know, then you dont know me). :)

What's your preferred method? Bong, one-hitter, glass pipe, metal pipe, bubbler, blunt, joint.... or do you mix and match?

Nice! I like mini bongs and bubblers - my blunt/joint skills have much to be desired and I often find you lose too much smoke that way (IMO). I'm jealous brother - I'm on a break as I'm taking a test for an upcoming client. But, I do find my mind is clear when I'm using and about a month after I stop - b/w then is the only time I'm fuzzy. He's not normal - he's got a damned thick skin. I've insulted him in every way imaginable - blatent, subtle, confrontationally, sarcastically. It has had no effect whatsoever. In an odd way he's earned a certain level of respect from me for that. But as anyone who has read any of his "archives" surely knows, he could use a little (ok, a lot) of help in other areas.

I'm sure Skin's comments had no more effect than any of mine did. He'll be fine.

Campbell and Campbell, what exactly did you do, I know not. Whatever you wrote, I care not. As posters, the worst we can do is play mind games; my words are psychology to you, if you let it be. With the exception of perhaps the Kentucky (hey, he broke his promise of being "radio silence" toward me), I've never singled out any other poster to ridicules or degrade them. Thompson is a public figure and like all public figures, he is prone to ridicules and sarcasms. You can say anything you like about Sherman, and if I don't let it bother me or if I don't read what you writes, it won't bother me. Its all psychology. Skinbasket is likely playing mind games; I dont even know what he's writing cos I dont read his posts.

Maybe its because they work at Wal-Mart? Trust me, in HS during the summer between my somphomore and junior year, i worked at wal-mart for a month. Walmert makes most of its profit by paying its employee below the competitive rate and just a noch above the mimium.

APB, it is ironic that you mention me with Wal-Mart.... My real name is Sam.... Just Kidding.

Wal-Mart is the reason that I SOLD my retail stores. I understood how to compete against Wal-Mart. In fact, I located my stores next to them. I sold complementary items that you couldn't get at Wal-Mart.

Example, Wal-Mart sells Barbie dolls. I would not carry Barbie dolls but would carry Barbie accessories to complement the items you could get at Wal-Mart.

Then Wal-Mart started to "broaden" its offerings into the lines I was selling. I saw the writing on the wall, and sold the stores. They went bankrupt about 2 years after I sold because they could not compete with Wal-Mart.

I disclosed the reason I was selling to the new owner (whom I knew) who assured me that he understood the issue and had "a plan". Apparently, Wal-Mart executed his "plan" better than he did.

I returned to accounting after that, and own my own tax firm. My employees are the best paid, best benefit plan employees in my local area. ALL the year round employees have worked for this company longer than I have owned it. There are several temporary employees that come and go, however, thats typical in the industry.

Tank, here's the reality. If you ever showed up at my house, my staff would meet you there and THEY would throw you out, as they love my daughters as much as I do. They are as loyal a group as one could hope to have.

Oh, and the addictive comment? GOOD LUCK with that view. Call me in a couple of years when you need to "kick the habit". I promise that I won't say, "I told you so"....

Jayo,

Welcome to the forum. Some here refer to "Tank" or "APB" as the village idiot. I however, see that he's a "disillusioned" 20 something who has bought into the 2000 version of the 60's radical. These "free thinkers" have corrupted his brain and he's become the very thing he despises - "A Trained Robot".

This is a PERFECT example of our education system. This is what these fools are doing to our youth. He doesn't have ONE original idea - other than Ted Thompson stinks. Everything else is a "regurgitation" of someone elses ideas.

I'd be willing to guarantee that if you ever make enough money where your taxes equal the average gross income of a family of 4 that you'll slowly become a fiscal conservative and begin questioning gov't spending as much as TT's offseason moves

Or maybe you enjoy the sickening feeling you get from seeing that a large portion of that paycheck going to programs you'll likely never benefit from (Medicare/Caid and SS). I don't.

If all you had to do was pay 1/2 or 1/3 of the rent, buy some grub and spend the rest on dope, you probably wouldn't miss 24% of your paycheck. Also, remember, the most important tenent of liberalism is to "feel good" at the end of the day. "Imagining" that you are helping someone, instead of dumping money into an inefficient black hole could let you "feel pretty good", you know what I mean?
